From the folks who brought us Occupy. They lament all the Dumbocrats among you...

On September 17 last year a new crop of wild lefties took the crusty old guard by surprise . . . then, one by one, the old lefties came to Zuccotti to pay homage and offer their support. A struggle for the soul of Occupy has been percolating ever since. At stake is whether the young anarchic spirit and voice of Occupy will stay with the new left horizontals who launched the movement or whether it will move towards the monied old left. One of the most decisive moments in that struggle came when Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream fame started offering occupiers money claiming there were no strings attached.

The new left horizontals? You mean the horizontal structure without any decision making body that could decide (according to my recent conversation with National Lawyer's Guild table) to appeal the eviction from Zuccotti, or sue the city for ignoring the AM court ordered injunction, or sue for judge shopping, or sue for improper handling and record keeping of confiscated property (confiscated by garbage truck, moreover)? That radical, great-advance-for-humankind development?

Back to the eviction, the comments at the bottom are worth reading: http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/15/us/new-york-occupy-eviction/index.html

Ever heard that saying: Ass, cash or grass-nobody rides for free?

Ok, so for this particular group-the lesson has been learned.

This is an election year and that is why you are seeing so many Dumbocrats, as you call them. My hope would be that after the election things will return to the original Occupy vision that you described.

Is adbusters one of those sites that gives you ads like cookies. I don't understand the name. The tone suggests a Republican/Conservative Slant...

Could use a couple of comments on my post. Don't know if there is support out there for this. It is common sense, wisedom, and only fear prevents a national Referendum. Doesn't it sound like something a Farmer or a Country Boy would suggest????

Adbusters seems to be about practical jokes. OWS may have started with them but it took on a life of it's own in the US. They charge quite a bit for a subscription to their magazine. When I took an English class several years ago a lot of time was dedicated to "anti-advertizing" artwork but it was never identified as such. Young students seemed very confused about this. There is no conspiracy going on but there may be a small connection between "anti-advertizng", the new intelligentsia and their relation to OWS.

Hey, wasn't that the reason OWS came about?

Trying to get away from being bought and sold out by the likes of Corporations, big business, etc?.

Does it really matter who is offering the $$$$.....didn't Judas sell out a whole nation of people for a few pieces of silver?

What makes anyone think today is any different? My how times have NOT CHANGED!
