Forum Post: ✭ The Amazing Thing About Political Parties ✭

The amazing thing about political parties is they must get votes. They must get the confidence of the population. Many occupiers talk about direct democracy, and that's fine, but the way to get that is with more political action, not less. By making a political party, then winning the confidence of the population, we show that Occupy is well supported. Once that is shown, then we can start changing laws to make the system closer to direct democracy. We can have more referendums for example.

We shouldn't be afraid to play in the political arena with the big boys. If we speak truth, then America will follow us!

The problem lies in getting past the D/R racket of media control and ballot access.

I wrote in NO WAR on my 2012 ballot

everyone should know that

There is a path through the Bernie Sanders campaign to take over a large political party, then some changes could be made.

[-] 2 points by turbocharger (1756) 8 years ago

Thats hysterical. And who else that is running out of the other 535 positions that resembles Sanders?

If you can name me 5-6, congrats. You are at 1% of the total pool.

Or are you showering your hope and praise on one lonely man again?

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago

and so you would rather see the GOP win? or name me 6 seats out of 535 where it won't be a R or a D? if you want to get all ":real" then tell me why do you want to see the GOP win? because you never say a bad word about any of them.

[-] 2 points by grapes (5232) 8 years ago

Yes, indeed. You should stop blaming Ralph Nader and the Greens for Gore losing the 2000 presidential election. It was actually the semen stain on Ms. Monica Lewinsky's blue dress and DNA technology stripping away Slick Willie's deniability. Blame the Man blown by his sex-o-phony "think"ing.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago

You may be caught up in blame, it has nothing to do with blame, it is a fact that Nader did not support Gore and his support would have made a huge difference, while it may be true that had other facts not been in play this disadvantage might have been overcome, but it is a fact that Nader placing his name on the ballot in FL and NH put W Bush into the WH, which would have not happened in spite of any dress otherwise. It is really stupid shit like putting stupid names on ballots and helping to elect the GOP that must be avoided.

[-] 2 points by grapes (5232) 8 years ago

Why didn't you blame Gore instead for not having captured the votes of the Retardicans to prevent mega-Wiener from parachuting onto Casa Blanca crippling?

Most people savored the economic performance under Slick Willie's administration. If Slick Willie had not shamed himself with the blow-job by the intern, he certainly could have been a big draw for votes in Gore's election as the new President.

Don't you think there will be Slickies who will blame Bernie Sanders for being the stupid name should the Slickies lose Casa Blanca?

[-] -2 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago

You see you are looking for someone to blame,

I am recounting facts so we may learn from the past and not repeat mistakes like voting for ego whores like Nader, instead of using our votes to thrown the GOP from office and keeping the likes of W Bush from giving everything to the bankers.

[-] 3 points by ImNotMe (1488) 8 years ago

Obama, Holder, Bernanke,Yellen and most Democratic Party politicians already gave ''everything to the bankers'' - in case you hadn't noticed. That is why Occupy Wall Street was born, no? Do you think that there would be a Bernie Sanders presidential run, IF there had have been no Occupy Wall Street? Just being Liberal isn't enough in America these days, imo. Finally, see - http://www.alternet.org/news-amp-politics/noam-chomsky-how-word-liberal-has-been-totally-distorted-america .. by Prof. Noam Chomsky.

[-] -2 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago

The collapse occurred before Obama came into office, are you just another GOP apologist? With your oh don't pick on the poor GOP they're all like that, shit.

[-] 2 points by ImNotMe (1488) 8 years ago

A ''GOP apologist''? On an Occupy Wall Street site? Are you one of those sad people who thinks that if a person is not bewitched by the Democrats - then they must be enamoured of the Republican scum or are you just a cranky Dem shill? Perhaps you should now watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u79hDi6XBwQ - and then ask yourself .. who was it that actually enabled these greedy psychopaths?

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago

I'm one of those people that think it is stupid as shit to let the GOP win, what kind of person are you? the kind that says it's not much worse than a Dem winning? in other words a GOP apologist.

[-] 3 points by ImNotMe (1488) 8 years ago

What a pathetic response, and with nothing to say about that short but important video either. How long has there been a Democratic Party President, as opposed to Republican one, since 1970? One term of Jimmy Carter and two terms each of Clinton and Obama, right? So twenty years of the last forty-six but look what state the country is in now. Just how did Republicans - gain so many wins at local, state and national level? Anything to do with the Corporate Media do you think? Or, any connection to the paucity of real alternative Democratic Party policies? Have you any word of criticism of the Democratic Party? I saw from your home page that you are a proud and lifelong ''liberal'', so I'll again recommend that Noam Chomsky article above, and ask you to please note, that having issues with the Democratic Party does not automatically make me or anyone else, a Republican Party supporter. Occupy will get that for sure.

[-] -2 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago

The GOP win because of stupid people like you who apologize for the horrible shit the GOP does by saying the Dems aren't much different when the truth is there is huge difference, I do not have the power to make the world perfect but I can see how evil the GOP is and do what I can to stop them. Are you really so stupid as to not know that the GOP work to make the rich richer and money more powerful in public policy? Or are you really just a GOP supporter here trying to confuse people.

When have you ever criticized the GOP?

[-] 3 points by ImNotMe (1488) 8 years ago

So not a single word of criticism of Obama or the Democrats then? Wall Street sends you their love and asks you to send in your 401k account for safe keeping! That Evil Corporate Republican Party, exists to con The 99% on behalf of The 0.1% but the Corporate Democratic Party, now exists to con The 99% on behalf of The 10% but fools like you still fixate on the lesser of two evils and thereby keep Corporate and Banking Evil alive and well - as The 1% OF The 1% steal your future from right under your nose because you are helping to hand them the keys to the US' Treasury - by holding to a system of corporate control.

Occupy Wall Street saw through that and Bernie Sanders may have done so too but people like you are just extremely wedded to your half of the illusion that passes for Democracy in the USA .. but sooner or later .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-t2uemFNcwk as The 99% need more than duopoly can offer. Tunes aside, I think you'd be better off watching this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u79hDi6XBwQ

Be careful of arguing with idiots. They will suck you down to their level :)

[-] 3 points by ImNotMe (1488) 8 years ago

Too late for that now lol, so see below for the latest instalment of the on running forum saga - OR, more usefully, consider this .. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article43094.htm Thanx for reply here http://occupywallst.org/forum/poll-curious-to-know-how-many-truthers-here/#comment-1066593 too btw. The binary-fixated folk below think like GWB, ie. ''IF you not with us (100%) .. then you are against us'' whilst the crooks at the top, run away with the loot - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u79hDi6XBwQ

[-] -2 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago

still worried about your money turbo? Is the bad old government going to raise your taxes?

[-] 2 points by turbocharger (1756) 8 years ago

You act as if most everyone is not worried about their money. What do think all of this wealth inequality talk comes from?

And your master DKA below is right, I dont make enough to benefit from anything the D/R nonsense gives the rich.

Doesn't mean we arent all getting fucked over regardless.

[-] -2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 8 years ago

The funny thing - is - is that I doubt turd-o-charger makes enough money to be helped by the rethuglican tax breaks for the very wealthy & corp(se)oRAT - AND - does not make enough money where he would be hurt by the taxes that Bernie wants to impose on those wealthy & corp(se)oRAT.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago

Like I thought you are a GOP apologist who never criticizes their shit because you are a supporter of the 1%.

How you been Shadz did you have to pull out yet another ID as your 1% supporting ass keeps getting found out.

stupid shits like you elect the GOP

[-] 2 points by ImNotMe (1488) 8 years ago

If Bernie Sanders was not running under the Democratic Party rubric - make no mistake about it ... you Demadickts here, would be throwing his ass under a bus! I can only post here because of the kindness of others but go look for, find and reveal ANY reply comment or forum-post from me that ''apologises for The GOP or supports the 1%'' ... you cranky, cantankerous, clueless, corporate control loving - half-wit.

As usual you see no irony or paradox in still keeping your lips pressed to the DNC ass, whilst accusing others of supporting the 1% like u,yourself! When John McCain gets his warmongering ass re-elected in Arizona, should we then blame you and all your Republican voting neighbors and kin personally for that? Not a single thing that The Repugnant Party does is for The99% but the Dem lip-service is a huge issue.

However, here's what is actually more important, if you really care about the future, you cranky duopoly fixated ''numbnut'' .. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article43094.htm Now see if you can work out why that is such a nasty crock of shit for The 99% yet enabled by a Corporate-Dem POTUS & Pols. D'you think that the forum'd be better IF all non-Dem addickts are forced away? Is that what you want?!

Once again - I will guarantee you that if HRC was the Dem frontrunner right now and BS was running as a principled independent ... you'd be singing her praises whilst slinging the same shit you try to sling at others on this forum, at Bernie Sanders! So go look into your mirror darkly and deal with that funny fact! IF you can, try to deal with the plurality of opinion or perhaps accept the ''sturm und drang'' here at least.

[-] 2 points by turbocharger (1756) 8 years ago

Exactly. These people are party hacks. They find someone within their party of choice and its a lock.

The duopoly is much smarter than these people. It's their full time job to manage and control opinion and thoughts.

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago

You don't give a damn about anything but elect Republicans you GOP loving asshole.

[-] 2 points by grapes (5232) 8 years ago

Blame must be widely shared. Apparently, Operation Transfinite Credit has just achieved its first milestone, years ahead of schedule: http://news.yahoo.com/imf-approves-chinas-yuan-elite-currency-171229011--finance.html

Whether it was Slick Willie's secret-ion or GOOP's vanilla cream, pleasures of the fathers shall visit upon the children, and the children's children, with vengeance. Dual partisanship split our pants.

[-] 1 points by grapes (5232) 8 years ago

Surely I am. The U.S. power and reputation have been squandered and damaged a lot since the days when Saddam Hussein's Republican Guards were kicked out of Kuwait and incinerated on the Highway of Death. The leaders of the three administrations since then were Slick Willie, mega-Wiener, and geoduck, of BOTH parties.

When I think about the application of the very ancient truth about where men do their real thinking, I get the "Aha!" moment about our men with loads of substance as well as our men lacking loads of substance. That pretty much completed all of the options for the U.S. electorate. All "roads" by the men led to their crotches. Aha!
