In 1993, PickleTown became an anarchy. There were no protests, no guns, no demands. The mayor simply packed his bags and the government offices closed for good. The people rejoiced.

Martin Howard recants - "Back in 1992, after the mayor and his colleagues were caught doing corruption, the people became disenchanted and decided to take over."

"Some wanted to protest and start a big fuss, but most of us folks here at PickleTown are simple and relaxed you know? We just wanted to play it cool. Well, we just started organizing ourselves. After a big meeting, we thought we should just ignore the government. Just pretend it didn't exist. So, we stopped voting and paying taxes. Stores stopped charging taxes since they weren't paying them. Then we just pooled our money and started paying for the school, the police, and so on. Just like that. We held meetings every two days at first, then when the show was running good we made them every week. It's been like that ever since."

"Nothing much the government could do. They just had blank stares in their faces. Well, the mayor packed his bags one day and started coming to our meetings instead. He's the school's principal now. It will be 20 years on June 3rd. We haven't looked back. Anarchy saved our people. The town's running better than ever."

PickleTown is a small town in Colorado famous for its pickle making.

I lived in Colorado most of my life and still have strong connections there. I've never heard of it, it's not on my map, and it doesn't turn up in a web search. And to my knowledge, there's no pickle industry in Colorado. Where is this remarkable town?

But of course, nothing in the link you posted has anything to do with the supposed citizens' revolt. There's never been a political entity called Pickletown - all of your events occurred in the town of Littleton, which has been there since the 1800s. And there's certainly never been any citizen's revolt in Littleton. The whole story of the citizen's revolt appears fabricated.

A clear example of the necessity of always checking our sources, no matter how well they agree with our our own perception of the truth.

Good work!
