Suddenly, it's apparent that the "Occupy" demonstrations have started a new movement. "We are the 99%" is a new and historically unique concept. We can't claim to "speak for" or "represent" 99% of Americans, but we can certainly declare our loyalty to "The Rest of Us" in opposition to the evil few who seem to have no loyalty to us. We are NOT anti-capitalist, we are opposed to IRRESPONSIBLE capitalism and the abuse of arbitrary power that has ruined the economy and disenfranchised or impoverished millions. A social and political reform movement in response to that abuse is just getting started, and will get MUCH bigger (the Vietnam War protests will look small by comparison). What do we want? For one thing, ethical reform in corporate America. We want a government that works for all of us, not just for THEM. How we get there, I don't know yet, nobody does. We'll find a way. I hope we recognize that the problem is not the profit motive, per se, but callousness toward others, indifference to people's rights, cynical and inhumane attitudes, brutality and violence, and avoidance of liability for the consequences of decisions made solely on the basis of greed. This is a movement of good people, ordinary people, usually-powerless people who are sick and tired of it. Let's demand high standards of ethics from ourselves and each other, as well as the fat cats we're angry with. We have the moral high ground, and I hope we can keep it. Stay good, America. -- The Moralist

I support you. without you nothing happens. i support me.. without our ACTIONS... NOTHING HAPPENS.. greed and corruption has to go.. We need to get our voice before congress they need to act on our word. NOTE: IF YOU IGNORE THE DISSIDENT MINORITY THEY WILL LEAVE THIS BOARD. just a PR message to the arbiters of misguided knowledge.

My proposal - let's put it ALL on one platform, a revolutionary platform. Should voters have the opportunity to VOTE on a revolution? http://www.JeffBlock2012.com

We Have Permission to Change the System

This is all unorganized aggression, and with the police acting the way they have lately, I fear pre-revolutionary mobs. If you take into account the American revolution, it goes protest, mob, continental congress, war, victory. The king in our world is corporation. I just highly believe we can skip the mob and violence and move straight into getting our demands met. Maybe constructing and executing some sort of ultimatum to the government or something I don't know, that's where speakers would come in.. Take all our uneducated concerns and make them educated demands. I don't think the rich give a shit that everyone's upset because they nor government aren't FORCED to do anything about it...wasn't it Thomas Paine who said,a little matter will move a party, but it must be something great that moves a nation. Wouldn't the government be more inclined to listen directly to us if they feared our departure from the union. Isn't it our god given right to change government if it fails to protect its people from all forms, even corporation. To be truly American is to have different people do different things but all participate as one right? There should be a group who gets together and writes an ultimatum for the government to take action against corporate greed, not everybody should be focused on the occupation but on how to get government to recognize our needs.

I fear infiltrators, I think they will somehow provoke the police and when the police eventually hit us, we will fight back and that will be the excuse for congress to label the movement as an insurgency, then in the eyes of the 1% who control the media, we are all committing treason and terror, with the violence possibly on the rise, it gives way for military intervention. That's why I feel so heavily on constructing some sort of new congress. Though my fears are probably years from existence (assuming I'm even close to being right) a million voiceless as one, can tell the world we've had enough but where do we go from there. I fear the bigger the occupations gets around the nation, without having some sort of head committee to lead us forward, the very evils we see to abolish will find its way into our ranks via infiltrators and ruin the cause. I feel the first step of revolution is in full motion but it will eventually come to an end and now we must now begin to build bridges to what comes next.

I think I'm just eager to find out what happens next. I've been playing out this movement in my head like a game of chess. First we hit with protest, then they move by discrediting the movement with bad media. I wonder which piece is going to get played next.

THE 1% HAS SPOKEN THROUGH THEIR MOVE TO DISCREDIT THE MOVEMENT AS WEAK, DISORGANIZED, EVEN ANTI AMERICAN. PERHAPS THEIR INTENTIONS ARE TO BREAK THE 99% USING THEIR MOST SEDUCTIVE FORM MANIPULATION, THE MEDIA . FRIENDS BELIEVE A CALL TO ACTION IS UPON US, FOR ALL WHO BELIEVE WE CAN DO SOMETHING, ORGANIZERS FROM EVERY CITY AND EVERY STATE SEND REPRESENTATIVES SOMEWHERE TO ORGANIZE OURSELVES SO WE CAN REALLY MAKE AN IMPACT. WE CANT MAKE REVOLUTION WITHOUT EVOLUTION. WE MUST GROW OURSELVES WITHIN THE MEANS OF THE PARKS AND INTO A MORE COHESIVE UNIT. AMERICA CALLS ONCE MORE FOR HER SONS OF LIBERTY. WE NEED OUR OWN CONTINENTAL CONGRESS SORT OF BRAIN TO ALL OF THIS. THE QUESTION NO LONGER IS WHO, WHAT WHEN, WHERE AND HOW ALL THIS WILL END. BUT SIMPLY, NO QUESTION REMAIN. PRODUCTIVE ACTION WILL PREVAIL.
