We all know these people, they are basically good people, they have just been mislead to believe the propaganda offered by the 1% that if they are greedy enough, and sell out your friend and neighbors, they too can become a member in good standing of the Republican “Greed is good” cult and maybe even a leader. Of course this promise and the hope that supports it of is all smoke and mirrors. That is why they are only 1% of the population. They are easily identified because, like any other cult member, they all read from the same prepared script with the usual delusional talking points, such as: America isn’t a democracy, President Obama is not a U.S. citizen, we live in a free market economy, etc. Unfortunately for the rest of us, this ignorance is just as dangerous as a social disease to our culture, it has spread the virus of greed like like a crack whore in need of her next fix.

"John Steinbeck once said that 'socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.'

This helps explain why American culture is so hostile to the idea of limits, why voters during the last energy shortage rejected the sweater-wearing Jimmy Carter and elected Ronald Reagan, who scoffed at conservation and told them it was 'still morning in America.'

Nowhere does the myth of progress have more fervent believers."

Good people? If assholes are good people, OWS is dumb.

[-] 1 points by BeholdenToHumanity (20) 12 years ago

Which is exactly the point they think we don't get.

Obama and the entire congress is taking bribes. That means OWS can win a landslide election with people like me running as the Green Party CT 4th district candidate to fix these criminals. They won't arrest themselves.

Please wake up all your friends.

And how will you take on Jim Himes?

[-] 1 points by stevemiller (1062) 12 years ago

Campaigning hard every day for a year. The OWS losers want to sit in the park and hallucinate.

What would your platform be, so far as arguing with wealth that that's just the way it's always been done, and what's the point of making $ if you can't?

Invite me to speak for an hour and I will tell you my solutions. I won't keep repeating the problems we are all aware of. I need an hour and then I'll take questions until there are none left.

Steve you have admitted that you are a convicted felon who spent 9 years in prison for extortion. Why are you looking for your next prey here?

HA cult member. You made me laugh. If OWS isn't a cult i don't know what is. There is so much delusion at the core of this movement it is amazing the active members are able to find their way out of the park. Let me fill you in to something. There is no such thing as Utopia. You can't and never will achieve it.

[-] 1 points by BeholdenToHumanity (20) 12 years ago

If we ever did achieve Utopia, the cult of humanity would still try to 1-up it.

ha probably so. We could live in a world where it was sunshine 24 hours a day, there was no death of any sort by any living organism on the planet, all nature would automatically stay in balance, everyone would be full of love and goodness and never have a bad thought or deed, and the day could be spent drawing pictures on recycled leaves of beautiful things. We can achieve it through solidarity i know we can!

[-] 1 points by BeholdenToHumanity (20) 12 years ago

I suppose we could make that world, but I don't think anyone would. We all know it would get boring.

[-] 0 points by Jimboiam (812) 12 years ago

Lol, it would be boring as heck.

Hence the protests. ;)
