The OWS messgae is lost as far as I can see. If you want to change the way things are done, you need new players. I have no idea what type of changes OWS is asking for?

The problem is lack of voter turnout, and lack of easily accessible voting information. These problems are not solved by term limits.

Term limits are the equivalent of automatic spending cuts. Term limits promote non-voting. It is not democratic.

If you had wanted to vote for Ronald Reagan a third time, you couldn’t. If you had wanted to vote for Bill Clinton a third time, you couldn’t. If you had wanted to vote for GW Bush a third time, you couldn’t.

Term limits take away right to vote for candidates we want. Term limits for the Presidency were imposed by the Right Wing Republican congress on Americans to thwart another popular president like Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

I think politics has a lot to do with our current problems. I agree with the idea that extreme redistricting by whichever party is in power has caused the extreme partisanship that we are currently witnessing. Congressional districts have become so polarized that only extreme candidates are being elected...now you have mostly the extreme left or right being represented and very little room for compromise from either side. Both the right and left need to realize that half the country has another point of view, therefore compromise is a must.
Politicians and media are playing the rest of us as foolish sheep...SUCCESSFULLY!
We need to come together and work out a solution, stop the class warfare, successful people are not the enemy, they are the people who create the jobs most OWS protestors seek. The rich need to realize they need to share and play nicer with others. I love my country and hate to see it falling apart as it is.

Longevity in the legislature is a means to increased power, yet people vote to keep a person they like, so I have reservations about term limits. I believe the important thing is to reduce the POWER long term legislators can accumulate. One way to affect this is to change the way committee membership is used as a reward system and bargaining tool. We need to call for making committee membership assignments by a random drawing from equal parts of each party. A legislator could refuse an assignment, but will not be allowed to be included in drawings for any other posting for that legilative year.

This thing isn't about corruption in politics anymore. If it were, why would they try to hurt every citizen on the west coast? If you think this is about anything other than destroying the current economic system in the US, then you haven't been paying attention.
