The Tea Party Patriots group, one of the largest of the hundreds of right wing factions claiming the tea party mantle, lashed out at Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) this week.

According to The Hill blog, the groups are furious with the House Speaker for daring to speak out against the conservatives that are paralyzing Congress and portions of the entire U.S. government.

Earlier this week, Boehner brushed off a question from a reporter about conservative groups’ resistance to the tentative bipartisan budget bill that would prevent any further government shutdowns for at least two years.

“They are using our members and they are using the American people for their own goals,” Boehner said of tea party and other right wing pressure groups. “This is ridiculous. Listen, if you’re for more deficit reduction, you’re for this agreement.”

He also criticized the groups for appearing to be more interested in raising money than achieving any actual policy goals.

Somebody doesn't want to go down with the ship. Maybe if he plays his cards just right then he can make the hard right the centrist norm.

Isn't that what they are doing with Christie? Same shit.

[-] 1 points by ZenDog (20488) from South Burlington, VT 4 months ago

is it? I haven't really been paying attention to Christie or Jersey politics.

Jersey

brr

Hurricane Sandy left him in a position to be dangerous - I should learn from that - repelicans loudest whines are just ill concealed tears of joy . . .

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (21780) 4 months ago

Well, right now they are looking for someone to run. So, Christie, a Teathuglican fave, is being paraded around as a "liberal" or "moderate" and his record says.........absolutely not.

conservatives

they can be so clever. Some of them. l think I've heard there are four or five different kinds of them. Christie must be among the country club variety . . . OF course Christie did not produce the circumstances wrought by Sandy - but now it makes me wonder, how many and how often those among that country club strain of conservative knavery actually cultivate on occasion that odd opportunity for the party to question their conservative credentials . . .

it would be a delicate gambit - but not much different from what is suggested at the end of the op above

I don't think that it's very different at all.

You're gonna love this. Click on the link in the text and look at the domain names. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/12/16/rachel-maddow-chris-christie-rotten-and-vindictive-political-payback-scandal-deepens/

My sense of it is that this is sop within the repelican political machine, and that in general Christie will have to go a long long way to ever top Cheney when it comes to political retribution.

What I think is really interesting are the various domain names Wildstein purchased, including: zachwildstein.com, wildstein.net, wildstein.org, samwildstein.com and there may be a couple of others I missed.

Since his name is David, I would presume these may be the names of family members, and if that is correct then his purchase of these domain names indicates a certain paranoia . . .

I guess that means that if you live in a highly vindictive manner you can expect to get your throat cut.

Those domain names are of people that turned him in.

I know - at least some of them are. I mean, it is possible someone named Zach Wildstein and someone named Sam Wildstein pissed him off - but he also purchased the domain name wildstein.net - his own name is wildstein. So I'm betting that list is more than just a list of those he wants to humiliate or to punish in some way.

It is also a list of those of his own personal vulnerabilities.

That's my guess. Sam and Zach are probably his kids. He didn't want anyone else doing to them what he is or was planning to do to others.

Paranoid - as a result of his own bitterness.
