The problem is that we have let the 1% fund our government. It has become By the CORPORATIONS For the people not By the PEOPLE for the people. They have been allowed to anything they want because they are the ones who make the rules. Publicly Funded Elections is the only way to change this.

If this issue, and others like ending corporate personhood, are not adopted by this movement then all of this is pointless. Money is not Speech. And when it is, the people with more money will drown out the voice of the 99%.

I hold the exact same sentiment in your first post on this topic. It is fruitless to take on issues that the 1% can unmake. We can hack at the weeds of corruption all day but, until we target the roots, we can never expect their power and influence to disappear. Solidarity!

You are right, and OWS should focus on one thing. The corrupting influence of money in politics is a core principal that I'm sure many can embrace. The political system is completely broken in this country.
