I know it's hard to believe but you have to: “WE ARE FREE!!!” (Take off the blinders) Isn't that why we're here?

Use cash not credit cards...Buy, but buy smart. Don't give a nickel to the banks

[-] 0 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

Where are you going to get your cash? Print it yourself? Who is going to cash your checks?

Credit Unions

[-] 0 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

Credit Unions are usually either federally chartered or state chartered. They also use corporations like Visa and MasterCard etc, and their finances are part of the banking system internationally as well. Using a credit union that uses and supports products or services created and offered through businesses owned by the 1% doesn't really end up boycotting them.

[-] 1 points by AMH (123) 12 years ago

It means less money in their hands, though. One step at a time, man! And if you don't like your options, start a new one! If you get a credit union large enough, it won't need to go through those corporations for lending. And in the meantime, I think everybody could do with a little less borrowing, since that's a big part of what caused all of this financial instability.

Keep electing Obama and the entire congress taking bribes, it will get worse. You people are all in the same trance doing exactly what they tell you to do. They tell you when you vote for the Green party candidate you will be throwing your vote away. You believe that propaganda and vote against yourselves which is voting against all of us.

OWS: Ridiculous nonsense all day in the park II

Nobody owns truth. Saying, "It would be my truth," makes no sense. Most people say that and I take them at their word, they believe it. They believe complete nonsense. (The statement was made on the OWS forum.)

I say there is water in the ocean. That is true. Its not my truth. Its true because God created the ocean by God's decision to put water in what would otherwise be dry holes such as God didn't create any water on other planets. Water is unique to earth as far as we know.

There may or may not be water on other planets, but there is no proof either way.

Making ridiculous comments to me insults my intelligence. Either I choose to ignore buffoons, or I might respond to their insult. Our society can choose to be politically correct or we can ridicule screwballs who are destroying our society.

Sitting in the park expecting utopia is crazy. OWS is a crazy protest because the OWS remedy for the "crime family" American government taking bribes in plan view is a worthless protest by lazy, ignorant people expecting utopia. I learned this first hand by making 7 trips to the park and listening to a large number of protesters.

I didn't vote for Obama. The rest of your rant is based on faulty assumptions, too. I'm an independent with libertarian leanings. I like capitalism because it works, and hate communism because it doesn't. I respect personal property, too. I'm not suggesting theft, or somebody to hand down a solution from on high because I whined. I'm trying to get the word out that there is already a solution to this mess, that's legal and non-political. People just need to know about it. So calm down a bit & think things through instead of reacting emotionally.

Wouldn't buying stocks produce the same, if not, better results? I have belonged to co-ops before and I own stock and I can say definitively that I would take the dividends and capital growth any day over some co-op rebates.

[-] 1 points by AMH (123) 12 years ago

It's the same thing, in the end. What we need is to own the things that generate profits. The only real difference is that because most coops' policy is one share per member, so it distributes the wealth more evenly.

[-] 1 points by Mooks (1985) 12 years ago

It distributes it proportionally to the amount of money a member spends. That was right in the link you provided. Rich people spend more money than others so they will end up getting the bigger payout.

[-] 1 points by AMH (123) 12 years ago

That depends on the charter. It varies. And it's just an incentive for shopping within the co-op. You get a bigger cut, but so does everybody else. Some of that extra profit that rule generates goes to everybody else. Suppose you get back a quarter on every dollar profit. That 75 cents leftover gets split evenly & goes to everybody else. Really, everybody wins.

The only word you need to get out there is George Washington created a democracy. It is the citizens fault for electing an entire congress taking bribes. Jefferson is doing 13 years for taking bribes. Is it necessary to find $90,000 in their freezer to prosecute them for taking bribes?

No one can be that stupid. All of you are in a trance.

[-] 0 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

George Washington didn't create anything on his own. And the Founding Fathers created a republic, not a democracy.

[-] 1 points by stevemiller (1062) 12 years ago

We agree except for the most important point. The solution is only by election. That is political. Bribing the government is the problem. That isn't capitalism, that is criminal. OWS only believes that utopia will bust loose because they are sitting in the park. I didn't dream this up, that's what I have been told by them in the park.

I have no faulty assumptions. How would you know what I've been told on my 7 trips to the park? I assumed OWS would understand they need to search for leaders to endorse for election. They are adamantly opposed to choosing any candidate. I agree with their beef and will run for office in CT 4th district.

Do you know I'm not calm? Go to my blog and then tell me what I haven't thought through. http://overthecoals.blogspot.com/

[-] 1 points by AMH (123) 12 years ago

I was disagreeing with your assumptions about me personally. I don't know what you were told & wouldn't presume to. It's irrelevant anyway.

If we elect new people, though, what's to stop them from also taking bribes? The people who would enforce anti-bribery laws are controlled by those taking bribes. This post is about no longer giving the bribers the money they bribe with. Solve the problem at it's source.

[-] 1 points by stevemiller (1062) 12 years ago

Your theory to keep the crooks is idiotic. Its the common stupid American response. Why prosecute any criminal? Can you people get more stupid?

Michael Moore's movie Farenheit 911.

Rather than portraying the evidence which concludes that Bush directed the conspiracy; Moore's documentary uses innuendo to infer there might be some looking the other way. None of the following facts prove anything concerning Bush's involvement: Saudis were allowed to leave America and Prince Bandar was a close friend of Bush, and no one else was allowed to fly. Major James R. Bath and airman Bush were suspended for their failure to take a medical examination, Bath would later be closely involved in Bush's oil companies. In a document that was altered by the White House, Bath's name was blacked out in the 2004 version compared to the 2000 version. Bath was the money manager for the Bin Laden family in America.

Moore either failed to study the hard evidence that Bush directly ordered the explosives rigged in the 3 WTC towers in addition to ordering a missile to be fired into the Pentagon. Would any Air Force General agree and fire that missile into the Pentagon unless the Commander in Chief ordered him to do that? Could bin Laden contact any American General? If Flight 77 actually hit the Pentagon there would be pictures to prove that inside the Pentagon. There would be jet engines, landing gear, hundreds of seats or their frames, luggage and passengers' bodies, but no pictures exist of any remains of Flight 77. At least one credible Pentagon employee filed a law suit in the SDNY court claiming there was no indication of any plane associated with the explosion that blasted April Gallop out of her seat before she scrambled out of the building. The suit was dismissed by Judge Denny Chin and went before the 2nd Circuit on appeal. Bush's cousin Judge John M. Walker, Jr. was on the Appeal panel to prevent remanding the case back for trial.

If there were any pictures of the rubble they could have allowed April Gallop's trial to proceed and proved her claim to be false with pictures. Pictures of the outside wall showed a small hole compared to the size of a Boeing 767 as if the wings of the plane with 2 huge Rolls Royce jet engines folded like the wings of a bird. The soft aluminum fuselage of a plane could create the hole in the thick Pentagon wall but the titanium engines dissolved.

This film muddied the water to protect Bush. Did Moore intend to protect Bush when the film focused on nonsense, or did Moore legitimately not know how to investigate this crime? I will attempt to learn the answer today when I meet Moore in person.

[-] 1 points by AMH (123) 12 years ago

Thanks, I love being called an idiot in the middle of a polite conversation for no apparent reason. Especially when it's preceded by putting words in my mouth. I didn't say keep the crooks. I said good luck actually accomplishing that pie-in-the-sky goal. People in power have a tendency to use that power to stay there. You apparently are running high on some sort of feeling of superiority trip. I am not impressed that you are meeting Michael Moore in person. You can stop throwing names out there & acting like you're special now. You're becoming like the crooks, albeit a seriously lamefied & weak version. I am definitely NOT going to check out your blog now, as this whole conversation appears to be nothing but an offensive advertisement for it.

[-] 1 points by stevemiller (1062) 12 years ago

I will try this one more time with you. Your reaction about my trip to see Moore is dumb and not true. I went there to meet him because he is powerful. He influences many people. I gave him a copy of my book. I urged him to run as a 3rd party candidate because he would easily win the election.

When the Dems realize that the Rep retard will win unless they abandon Obama to vote for Moore, Moore will win and there will be 435 candidates who will get on the Green ballot. We will finally destroy the Dem/Rep crime family and turn America around.

American democracy is bleak. read more - American democracy is bleak.

Last night I went to the NYC 92ND street Y to hear Michael Moore's view on not running for president. Moore and more than 90% of the audience have no limits on Obama's lies and Obama's bribes. They reminded me of the Jews hopping into the cattle cars for their trip to the extermination centers. When the government decides to use cattle cars to relocate you, that should be a sign to run and risk dodging bullets. The people who came to the Moore performance categorize themselves as being informed citizens.

I gave Moore a copy of my book and asked him to call me because the security of the event tried to prevent me at the dead end of the line to adequately speak to Moore. I positioned my self at the end of the line to not interfere with hundreds of people who wanted Moore to sign their books.

If Moore or another person with stature like Jon Stewart or Steven Colbert would run as the Green Party nominee against Obama in the general election, the fear that a Republican would win would drive all independents and most Democrats to vote for Moore, which would elect Moore in a landslide. Moore would give the Green Party the prestige to nominate candidates in all 435 districts and the 32 contested Senate states. We could finally destroy the bribe system that has wrecked America.

The bribe system in America is in the same plain view that the cattle cars were in Europe. Jumping into cattle cars is no different than voting for Obama except the American government doesn't need machine guns, it has used propaganda to put its audience of stooges in a trance.

It is the arrogance of the American public that prevents them from wanting to consider their self destructive behavior. Voting for Obama and the entire congress taking bribes is the same behavior as the people who jumped into the cattle cars. It is suicidal. American democracy is bleak.

You do realize there is a difference between a consumer co-op and a retailer's co-op......right?

[-] 1 points by AMH (123) 12 years ago

Yes, of course. If you take a second to think about it, it should be clear which one is applicable here. Consumer co-ops pay dividends to the members/consumers, who are all shareholders.

[-] 0 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

What if members of the co-op utilize products or services provided by the 1% as part of their contribution to the co-op?

[-] 1 points by AMH (123) 12 years ago

It's still an improvement. I'm not trying to create a watertight seal, just a system where everybody gets to participate and things aren't so unfair.
