We need the protest in New York and other cities, and I am joining the one in my city this weekend when it starts up. But where we REALLY need it is in Washington! Occupy Washington! Occupy Congress! Occupy the White House!
Those are the people who can change things -- we MUST take the fight directly to them!
Walk is good. Sending a message to the politicians could be better. Just write them: I'm one of the 99% and I had enough! Hundreds of thousands of such messages will have a positive effect.
Politicians want to be re-elected. If you are a registered voter, put them on notice that you will remember their actions at election time. If you're not a registered voter, just tell them you're fed up and why.
We need to walk from New York to Washington. Shut down the high ways with the amount of people. Show them no more Tax Breaks for the rich...... no more corrporate greed.....and GOOD Health care............ etc. etc etc.!!
Hi, marching form NYC to DC is a good Idea. Last June-.July our mates did that in Spain,k they walked to Madrid. That ended up on a grater march from many European countries and also some others like Egypt, Venezuela, etc to Brussels, the administrative capital of the EU : http://takethesquare.net/2011/08/14/the-march-to-brussels-who-are-we-where-are-we-going-why-do-we-do-it/ hope you get to do that!
Thanks for the encouragement -- we could learn so much from people around the world if only we didn't ahve this silly American egotism that we are somehow greater than everyone else.
