This content is user submitted and not an official statement

1) Create official OWS tv/radio commercial. different one for each nation, etc.

2) Create official OWS youtube channel with video updates from leaders of the movement and what people at home can do to support us.

3) Sell merchandise like t-shirts, wristbands, headbands, beanies, etc.

4) Create official group meetings (for those who sign up for it) in every major city/region to record ideas/thoughts/concerns/proposals.

5) Try to appeal to more celebrities in favor of the movement.

6) Appeal to schools worldwide! kids can protest education in an effort to raise more awareness. it is expressed as exclusively voluntary.

7) Urge common people who are in favor of movement to stop buying products and stop buying credit cards/paying for credit card payments.

8) Try to establish a world-wide day event where everyone in favor of movement does not go to work, does not pay bills, stops paying credit cards and throw them out, does not pay for gas, does not buy products, etc.

Buy Made in USA and support jobs in the USA!

Considering OWS issues are so many and diverse, a singular thought would be that the entire system is broken, and the only way to fix that would be to call for a constitutional convention. Although a constitutional convention can only be called on a single issue, once done, all issues can be addressed including changing the constitution itself.

A constitutional convention assumes that the system itself is OK. I think we should rebuild society from the ground up.

Before we do all that, we need a coherent consistent message. Something people can identify with. Something that is simple and resonates with what most people want.

"create official documentary or short video summarizing our reasons for this protest and what we desire as a nation, and as a world."

We really need some organization. I think if each occupy community generally compiles a list of concerns, and then solutions, and we share it with eachother, then we can do what is best for each local, state, and federal issue.

I just signed. I'm going to spread this on Facebook.

As an author and syndicated columnist, I am surprised that OWS hasn't done more propagandazing and reaching out to the media. Many of us are sympathetic and will help spread the message, but we need to hear from you.

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

I feel the same way. I think we should have been organized to begin with but everything is entirely chaotic. We need to create an easy-to-understand agenda.

I was invited to speak by the October 2011 Stop the Machine occupation of Freedom Plaza in DC, which (though now forgotten) was the inspiration for the entire Occupy movement. It was very well organized by groups like CodePink and Veterans for Peace—they had me and other media types record promotional web videos. They worked; many people in DC told me they came because of one of those videos.

I think it's OK for the demands not to be too granular yet. The power of this movement lies in giving voices to the voiceless. Just being heard is an act of liberation. But there should be more outreach to public intellectuals, artists and other personalities for the simple reason that they publicize and legitimize the movement, which makes it OK for more people to feel like it's a good idea to come and join it.

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

Exactly. I just don't know who the 'leaders' of this movement are and who to talk to about these things. But I'm sure they have more than enough on their hands.

I really feel like we have created something powerful and more important than any previous revolution. I believe this revolution is going to be a global consciousness shift of our awareness of the voiceless and the suffering. But I don't think we are going to get anywhere if we keep the current political, foreign policy, and economic systems in place.

You'll Never get the Truth out of Mainstream Media...CNN as well as Fox are Own by Both Political Parties and will tell Us only what They want Us to hear...

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

I know. But I think it's worth a shot to get more publicity and awareness. Maybe we can go through other channels that are willing to help us out without censoring?

I would suggest an organised run on the banks.

It only takes 10% of funds to be withdrawn from a bank for them to collapse.

Everyone emptying their accounts on the same day would have that effect.

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

YES! I was thinking that, with the amount of people who are in support of this movement, we have more than enough to make an impact on banks.

We need an official day.

[-] 1 points by mimthefree (192) from Biggar, Scotland 13 years ago

i think that's what phase 2 of "the plan" will be. I'm hearing rumours of Nov 5th.

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

Alright, good stuff. Thanks

[-] 1 points by mimthefree (192) from Biggar, Scotland 13 years ago

recommend taking out all of your money (including maxing out overdrafts) before then. If the bank collapses, your debt is wiped out, if not, you just put it back in. However, don't use credit cards, that just increases liquidity in the system and helps the banks recover debts (by them artificially creating money.)

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

agreed. i have no credit cards, never liked them. but i will spread this as much as i can.

fucking credit cards.

I do not like number 3. If we sell things then we are supporting capitalism.

  1. Use celebrities, they are 1% so we 99% need them. That is sauteed our opposition days.
[-] 1 points by laffingrass (362) from Normal, IL 13 years ago

Is this movement against capitalism? If it is, you're going to lose a lot of support.

[-] 1 points by frankjr (44) 13 years ago

General assembly is compiling all the demands and in a month or so it will be clear.

[-] 1 points by laffingrass (362) from Normal, IL 13 years ago

It was done 3 months ago, GA is wasting their time and ruining this opportunity.

I admit that 3 is not ideal, and it is capitalism, but while we are in this struggle with the system in its place, we might not get anywhere without some type of funding for our resources. However, I am no expert and I'm just trying to put some good ideas out there. Thank you for the constructive criticism though.

5 is already in action. I think Immortal Technique and michael moore are there. Maybe some other celebrities who can donate resources.

[-] 1 points by guru401 (228) 13 years ago

What's wrong with supporting capitalism? I want capitalism.

[-] 1 points by frankjr (44) 13 years ago

We already have capitalism. Then why we are here.

[-] 1 points by guru401 (228) 13 years ago

We have crony capitalism, where banks are rewarded for failing. That's not capitalism.

[-] 1 points by pw1539 (24) 13 years ago

this is good. how can we honestly trust anyone in the top 1%, that be media, politicians, corporations, or wall street? Americans must asemble against this, and this is what we should strive for--http://occupywallst.org/forum/the-occupy-wallstreet-movement-needs-specifics/
