I have one major problem with sound money.
Ex: Let's say the dollar is now sound (backed by gold/silver) Where do the banks get gold/silver to back the money? Will anyone actually trust in a sound money system? (Fear of your gold/silver being taken again)
Any ideas?

You are hitting upon something correct. Money is not sound because it is backed by a commodity. What makes money sound is the People. That is why we don't need to go to a gold (or other commodity-backed system).
It is not what backs the currency, it is who controls the quantity!
That is why I join the voices saying, "End The Fed". But I do not join their lust for gold/silver. Indeed--the oligarchs would simply corner the market on whatever commodity backed the money.
We need to take the money power back! Demand that the government nationalize The Fed (in a way, but it would not be even recognizable when compared to its current form). We need to end or severely limit the fractional reserve system and restore the money creating power to the people.
This is not easy. It would have to be severely scrutinized and controlled so as not to cause rapid inflation. But it is what must be done to wrest the power from the hands of the oligarchs.
Why is this not a part of their charter?
