A higher percentage of women in Virginia support the fetal personhood bill than men. Women have been that brainwashed into thinking their fetal cells are people. Is this what guilt does? People need to be freed from this. Come on, women. Just do what's right.

Almost 4 thousand abortions a day sounds like a good reason to raise the minimum wage and institute universal health care. Unless you believe the people aborting fetuses are just enjoying their American dream so much that they don't want to be bothered with the duties entailed with having children. You know this is one of the reasons I don't buy the argument that Conservatives are compassionately concerned with working class abortions. If they were so concerned maybe they would fight for better wages and cheaper health care. This is a little hyperbolic, but I get the impression that Conservatives only care about the sanctity of life when the women is in possession of the life. Any other time, it is get a job you dirty bum, which makes me believe it is just that Conservatives are too greedy to pay a little more to ensure mothers can take care of their children. Conservatives play the compassionate card when they are policing women's rights, but when gov't programs that would ensure abortion is not an option are brought to congress, Conservatives put the card back in the deck and pull out the socialist one. just a though and an opinion.

How much exactly does it cost to take care of a child?

[-] 1 points by Puzzlin (2898) 12 years ago

That depends on whether you have good health insurance. Having a child is cost well into the thousands out of pocket even having excellent insurance.

If the child is unfortunate and suffers any major illnesses or major trauma your life savings can be extinguished if you either don't have health insurance or the right kind.

College is hundreds of thousands. Wealthy families send their kids to the best schools.

Exactly how much? That really depends on what you care to provide to your precious child.

Well when you call it "fetal cells" you sound right however you can legally have an abortion up to 24 weeks.

This page shows a fetus at 24 weeks. http://tinyurl.com/7kw7nfk

The sad thing is that abortion is the thrird most common medical procedure in the US with over 1.4 million per year.

That comes out to 3,932 abortions a day.

We have to consider that VA is the land of the genteel lady of poverty and that an educated woman is less than desired by men of means. Besides, most of them figure that it isn't that far to MD or NC, or even W.VA.

It's not that at all... it's just that some see abortion as tantamount to baby murder. Baby murder is somewhat more repugnant to women of the South. But I don't really get it, I mean the analogy fails; we eat eggs don't we?

What if women laid eggs? Would we eat the eggs? I mean, they're not JUST eggs... they're female human eggs, right? So I don't know... I guess we'd just eat them.
