Right now it seems like its just a bunch of clowns thinking of ways to steal tax payers money.
The public infrastructure was given a grade of D by engineers.
There's an example that could create jobs and benefit the American public, but apparently they're more concerned of trying to find an excuse to steal people's social security money and handing out more tax cuts to the "job creators"
Cost dumping has led to infrastructure decay all over the country.
Taxes for the very rich were slashed, so financial support to local jurisdictions was slashed, so either taxes rose locally or infrastructure crumbled, or both.
The primary function of government should be to reign-in corporations, put them o work for us and ensure that everyone has a job and a place to live.
...And Yes:
Socialism is good.
Well I guess we'll have to wait and see until those fuckers are done destroying this country
To love the People.
We the People of the United States,
in Order to form
insure domestic Tranquility,
provide for the common defense,
do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
I see the promoting general Welfare part might be a little tricky
those are some big shoes
but I thought the stimulus #1 of 787 billion dollars fixed all of the roads....oh that's right there were no shovel ready jobs....

Government is designed to create and enforce laws that protect us from each other, and from outside danger. That is the essence of government in a Republic. It has been bastardized into some nanny state that the government is supposed to provide 'wants' to people. Thats one reason we are in trouble. Progressivism is a disease.
So you want the private sector to take on public infrastructure?
I for one happen to like driving without having to pay a toll booth every five minutes.
You think that makes a difference? Ever been to Chicago? roads and bridges are local issues, and not the role of the federal government. I only addressed the role of the Fed not state or local government. The federal government is a monster and it is bankrupting states with unfunded mandates.
Chicago has some of the best maintained roads I've ever seen in my life.
