"Sweepers, Sweepers, man your brooms. Give the ship a clean sweep down both fore and aft! Sweep down all lower decks, ladder wells and passageways! Dump all garbage clear of the fantail! Sweepers." Most ships actually discourage throwing of trash over the side but instead use mulch/pulp rooms. In port, "Dump all garbage clear of the fantail" is replaced with "Dump all garbage in dumpsters provided for on the pier."

Only followers look for leaders. Sorry, but you had that coming.

[-] 0 points by ikki5 (61) 13 years ago

too bad I'm not a follower, I'm actually against this, I just found the statement interesting how they are leaderless yet follow the requests made on this site. I just like finding the hundreds of contradictions that have been done by this movement

[-] 1 points by FixTheHouse (11) 13 years ago

You are against this why? If you are a part of the 1%, I understand. You want to keep all of the countries wealth for yourself. If you are a part of the 99%, why are you against yourself. These people may not have the same beliefs as you, but you are in the same spot. Follow the money. Where has all the money in the world gone. I don't have it. The poor don't have it. Do you have it? The only way to make the country work is to put the money back into it. Where do we get the money? From where it is.

I'm not part of this 1% of which you speak, I am a university student finishing up my final year doing my Bsc. I am against it because all I see is people go on about job losses and say how there is nothing when really, they refuse to look for anything that is less than $10-$15 and hour, perhaps even $20 and then they want to go and destroy these people that go and employ them, employ your 99%, up hold the economy (or at least what is left of it), people who worked hard and are still working hard for their money. This non violent movement is turning violent a good example is today where police have landed in the hospital. The attitude you give to those who are trying to go to work, earn a living and yet you stop them, don't let them go to their job. I have seen so many lies come from this group for the soul purpose of making them look good and police their enemies. You shut down entire systems making it so about 99.994% of NYC has trouble getting anywhere.

First of all, those $10-15 an hour jobs aren't there either. I have a 17 year old looking everyday for one of those. Second, are you willing to work one of those jobs when you get out of school?

I agree with you that they should not be disrupting everyday people and cops. This is not an organized movement that only allows a certain type of people join. There are many voices. Hopefully, from the many will come a clear and concise message. That time is not here yet.

As for the police, I have seen their tactics. Some of them are not to be trusted, and their actions have led to violence. Do you think that there would be violence if they just let the people be?

ok, those $10-$15 an hour Jobs, are there. how do i know this, I am working 3 of them part-time currently as of this moment and there are still more out there that I have seen. and yes, I am willing to working them if I am unable to find a cop in my fiend immediately. if I don't find one, then I take one of those Jobs and I continue looking.

Yes I know this movement is done by many but really, what I have seen, if people trying to force their way through crowds that would just join hands and not let people through. if they want to be heard, then they should not perform actions that get the majority of people angry at them.

As for police, yes, I know their tactics as well, and they have those for a reason. People are angry here, this is why this protest is happening. if you just leave the people alone, they will move to more drastic measures to be seen and hear. The police have those tactics to protect themselves and the other people who are just trying to live their lives. if you still don't understand, look what happened in Rome. People wanted to be hear, so what did they do? they started fires, turned over cars, massive fighting. if you just leave the people alone and don't even do anything. I am sure they'll lose their patients.

In any movement, or any profession there are people who act selfishly and selflessly. Are there people who do dumb things? Yes. I have done dumb things on occasion. You don't have to like the people, or their actions. Ask yourself, "Am I a one of the 99%?, and am I being treated fairly?" "Is there any body in Washington representing my best interest?"

This is why people are in the streets. They don't know what they are doing. They are just doing whatever they can think of to let people see that things are not right. And, I agree with that. And, that is what I support.

[-] 0 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

You advocate violence on this forum and you had the audacity to call my house and try to intimidate me. Get your punk ass on down the road you snaggle tooth prick.

Weird.

[-] 1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

You calling people that you meet on a forum without an invitation to do so is weird. You advocating violence on a forum for a non-violent protest, that is weird. Me calling you out for it.. not weird at all
