Forum Post: So, is OWS still going on or what?

This content is user submitted and not an official statement

I check in now and then just to see what - if anything - may still be going on.

It seems to me that OWS is at this point very much a "that was so 4 weeks ago" thing.

Ironically, even some of the most PRO OWS folks I talk to seem to be more interested in saying "you missed it; the 'real OWS' was 6 weeks ago" than saying "Welcome Brotha/Sista".

"The real OWS"

That's pretty silly. The real OWS is still happening, though I think I understand what they were getting at. Either way, there are still plenty of actives and supporters.

Yeah, the traffic on here is pathetic compared to the beginning of the website launch, but I still like posting. I'm also heartened by the fact that people are starting to voice the same things that I've been trying to advocate, so we're making a difference in the way we're talking about the running of society. I don't know if I've made a MUCH of a difference, but I do know that some people have really enjoyed my posts, so I'm glad about that. Just wait for next spring and such. It's going to revitalize itself. We're going to rock the nation!

It's branched out and is more the "occupy movement."

Last I checked its occuping homes people were kicked out of.

There is a world of difference between being supportive of OWS and being active in OWS. Those supportive of OWS might think it has disappeared because of the devastating effect that the evictions have had on OWS as a publicly visible movement. Those active in OWS know better and are still active.
