This is completely unacceptable. I am beyond outrage.

It will get worse too - they will hire agents provocateurs to attack the police, put it on the media and besmirch the OWS protestors.
Actually, what we need to do is have absolute vigilance and zero tolerance for violence amongst the protestors, period. I think they have discussed this issue at length though - and whatever 'leaders' there are in the Assemblies agree that there will be no violence.

Yes, but we have the numbers.
We have two choices in response to their violence:
1) become violent in return
2) remain peaceful
If we become violent, we will 1) escalate the conflict to give them an excuse to shoot the crowd / beat people; 2) more importantly: lose the support of the American people and the moral high ground; 3) ultimately lose because they will bring in the military; as well 4) people will get killed - the revolution turns bloody.
If we remain peaceful, we will 1) make it much more difficult for the police to escalate violence; 2) only recruit still more Americans to OWS' cause every time this type of police brutality goes viral; and 3) ultimately prevail because we have the NUMBERS.
The only way the 1% can ultimately control the 99% is by force.
However, it's easy for the 99% to control the 1%. Primarily by non-compliance, nonviolent resistance, and civil disobedience. Ultimately, the tiger that is America has been awakened, and probably isn't going back to sleep for a long time after this.
If 99% of people don't pay their taxes, don't comply with unjust laws, don't feed the system, what can the 1% do?
We need to escalate.
Why, so they have an excuse to kill people? We won't win, because we'll lose the support of the American people. As of right now, more are in favor of OWS than not. But that will only continue as long as we take the moral high ground and do not become violent.

Do report abuses to the FBI and your State police. I went to the FBI over criminal police activity and the New York State police and FBI came to my side. The police looking to violate my rights are now prisioners. Amen! Turn over all evidence of Police brutality to the FBI and to your State Police. You may be pleasantly surprised....
And try and find a way to consolidate the responses from them where others can see the effect, one way or the other.
