To show support for America we are asking all of us to come together. Over the next few weeks we can all display our support for the 2012 elections. When driving your car during the day, turn on your headlights to support Republicans. When driving at night, turn off your lights to support Democrats. God Bless America.

And when driving at night with the lights out, go through as many republican districts as you can.

Good suggestion for the Republican support gesture, though. Since they normally can't see the light of day, this might help them improve their vision. They might even see some poor people for the first time in their lives.

Actually, I would rather a poor person vote republican, then drive through a rich neighborhood to find their nice home. You like poor to REMAIN poor, we like them to get rich. That is the BIG difference between you and I.

[-] 6 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Yeah, the poor will get rich by giving tax breaks to the wealthy!

Repblitards hardly acknowledge they exist. They think their caddies and servants are wealthy.

Of course, even if these a-holes do drive around in the daytime with their lights on, they still won't be likely to see to poor, since most of the poor are busy working or looking for work (that the banks destroyed) instead of driving. Of those few poor that are still visible, Rebulitards won't see them anyway: there is still no cure for willful blindness.

[-] -3 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

Tax breaks to the wealth is the answer? Is that what you are REALLY saying????? Since the poor dont pay ANY income taxes,,, why are they not rich?

[-] 3 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Another lie from the right.

The poor pay more taxes as a percentage of their income than the middle class or the wealthy. Payroll taxes, sales taxes, taxes on utilities, etc.

[-] -3 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

Another lie from the left. They pay nearly zero. And the reason,,,,,,, wait for it,,,,, wait for it,,,,, they get welfare money from us so WE actually are paying more in taxes than they are. They dont pay any taxes on their money because it is OUR money they are spending.

[-] 2 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

50% of the American public is at or near the poverty line. 50% of the American public is NOT on welfare. So another fucking lie.

[-] -2 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

There are poor or there are not. Make up your mind. Which is it? If 50% is NOT on welfare then good,,, move on and enjoy life so none of us need to worry about it. Cant wait for baseball spring training. Beer and peanuts at the park.

[-] 2 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

My mind is made up. 50% of all Americans are poor. You may feel free to not worry about it. Most people are far less callous.

[-] 0 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

If you vote to be poor and continue to do that then I encourage people to do that. It is obvious that YOU would rather fight to be poor than to work towards not being poor. I'm not your mommy. If I was,,, you would not be poor.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

That's right. People CHOOSE to be poor. And I've got a bridge to sell.

[-] 0 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

And they can choose to not be poor. "From rags to riches" is more than just a phrase. Or,,, is that something that has proven to NEVER, EVER, EVER happen? ((("Oh, sure it has happened but only if you really work at it" is what you would probably reply with)

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Social/economic mobility is a myth. The USA has the WORST record of it the developed world. And the implication that the poor are too lazy to better themselves is also a myth, based on unfounded contempt and nothing more.

[-] 0 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

HOLD ON,,,,,, stop the presses,,,,,, you just stated above,,, "The poor can better themselves,,,, if they want to"??????? Saying they cant,,, as you say is a myth. WE FINALLY HAVE a statement from epa1nter that the poor are not lazy and can better themselves. NOTICE TO EVERYONE,,,, everything has been fixed,,, you can all go home and rest now.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Wow, you have a gift. You should market it. Your level of distortion for its own sake is raised to the level of art.

The poor are hard working, despite your fact-starved assertion to the contrary, They STILL can't gain get anything but poor despite that. Their poverty is not based on lack of ability or willing to work hard to better themselves, but in spite of their work ethic and abilities.

The rich can only exist as a minority. That is why it is rich. You should have figured this out as a child.

[-] 0 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

i disagree the earth is rich and there is plenty to spare. All we need to do is to learn to share its resources, and quit taking from others. When a man builds a home, let him live in it. When a man grows a orchard let him eat of it, instead its mostly other men to take it. One day, the people will see this is the truth.

[-] -1 points by toonces (-117) 12 years ago

So, you think a person who has an orchard should keep all the fruit to themselves rather than selling it to share with others?

Yeah! Go OWS! You are the real thinkers!

[-] 1 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

no he can share it, but why cant the person he sells it to also grow an orchard, isnt there enough for everyone, or are we so brainwashed into corporatism that we cant even comprehend the idea.

[-] 0 points by toonces (-117) 12 years ago

Maybe he is much better at growing apples and the person he sells to is much better at selling apples.

[-] -1 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

There will always be rich and there will always be poor. There are those that like being poor. There are those that dont enjoy being rich. The MAJORITY of people can decide how rich or how poor they are willing to work or not work for.

[-] 3 points by beautifulworld (23767) 12 years ago

Such a hateful little post.

[-] -2 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

The word "work" bother you? "Work" is hateful? Interesting.

[-] 2 points by beautifulworld (23767) 12 years ago

Where is the word "work" in that post? Huh? You're asking people to drive at night with no headlights. Hateful.

[-] -2 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

Dont support democrats by not driving at night with your lights on. A couple of positive/negatives change the meaning.

[-] 3 points by Chugwunka (89) from Willows, CA 12 years ago

I suggest driving at night with your headlights off for ANY ass clown that still believes in either party.

[-] 1 points by lithosere (65) 12 years ago

When supporting electoral politics during the day, step out into the freeway and lie down. When supporting electoral politics during the night, [see above].

[-] -2 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

You gotta have a little better imagination than that. That was really lame and sad.

[-] 0 points by lithosere (65) 12 years ago

just trying on the troll thing. and come on it's not worse than the original post.

[-] 0 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

Why did you respond to the original post and not just MOVE On? I think you really liked it.

[-] 1 points by lithosere (65) 12 years ago

don't try and act like I'm stepping on up your civil little conversation this whole thread is in response to your uncreative and tacitly violent joke why the hell are you on this forum? at least I'm part of OWS and believe in what it stands for. where's your social movement? oh yeah, it was astroturf created by funding from the capitalist elite and has since disintegrated. humm.

[-] 0 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

And you have contributed what ACTION to the cause? Have you actually dont something? Have you created something? Or have you simply flapped your lips and expect ME and everyone else to do what YOU think needs to be done. "After all is said and done, (by you and OWS) more will be said, than done"., You can start your own company, your own bank, your own insurance, your own net your own, what ever. As the ad says, "JUST DO IT"

[-] 2 points by lithosere (65) 12 years ago

you say that, and then when we take over foreclosed homes and try to create social centers in abandoned civic buildings we get called terrorists. I'll bet your most concrete action plan is voting once every 4 years.

[-] 0 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

If YOU want to purchase forclosed home,,, GO FOR IT. I think that would be a great idea. I have a feeling YOU dont want to buy the homes out of YOUR pocket you want someone else to do it. I have purchased several homes over my life time. I read the contract. I read the interest rates. I paid more than required in a down payment. I purchased a home that I could afford. Not one person held a gun to my head to buy a home I could not afford.

[-] 1 points by Chugwunka (89) from Willows, CA 12 years ago

What "cause"?

[-] 0 points by FreeDiscussion4 (70) 12 years ago

You have to read for yourself. Dont be lazy too.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) President Barack Obama will call for cutting the top 35 percent corporate tax rate as early as this month, according to two sources close to the administration.

The president is likely to propose a rate closer to an average of that seen in peer nations, the sources said.

"We will talk more before the end of the month on what corporate tax reform would look like," the official said on Friday, confirming that it would include a call for "lower rates."

Facing a potentially tough presidential re-election challenge this November, Obama will propose cutting the rate following the release of his 2013 budget plan on Monday, February 13, according to the sources, who were not authorized to speak on the record.

The president's proposal could be an olive branch to "corporations" to show that he agrees with them on one key aspect of tax reform.
