Seattle Occupiers only posted their versions of the conflict which obviously is a tenent of the whole "movement".
Push a cop, spit in his face . . .throw bricks, paint and steel rods, and have your buddies ready to record his reaction. Never show the provocation, never show the first striker, never show the true NON-Peaceful nature of OWS . . Only the reaction of the police. Sorry that both sides were shown in this latest planned ows fiasco, some of your faces are being identified, some arrested could face felony battery charges, some may even qualify for attempted murder.

I watched the videos carefully and what was most impressive was the usual rough handling of the protesters who appeared very angry and were being pushed aggressively by the police against each other, horses, etc. They appeared unarmed while the police were all wearing body armor, shields, riding horses, other riot gear equipment. So definitely an unequal encounter.
I saw at least one protester who had signs of assault (black left eye and cuts to his forehead) claiming the result of police beating. The media (Fox News) claimed that he was not so peaceful showing a police video as proof which showed him being pushed around by the police from behind and being upset waving his arms around and yelling / protesting his abusive treatment.
So the only abuse and acts of violence I saw was by the police. The police claims the protesters threw bricks, a flare, and paint bags. I saw a couple of projectiles apparently coming from the protester's side but could not make up what they were. I certainly am not going to believe the police nor the corporate media as to the nature of those projectiles. Although I do not believe such things should be thrown it seems like the police was trying hard to provoke such reactions by their aggression - again a score against the police and their media. If the police was not as aggressive as they appeared to be then I would not have been as sympathetic with the tactics of the OWS. Another concern is that there are always police provacateurs who work on both sides of the police and try to paint protesters as mindless hooligans / thugs again trying to score points for the state. But unless it is proven that the persons who committed such potentially objectionable acts were protesters, it actually counts against the police and their master gangster bankster state handlers. The same goes with the corporate media, another branch of the illegitimate corporatist oligarchy - the same arm who helped to spin the 911 massacre conspiracy and the following genocidal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with millions dead, etc. etc. etc.
It is shameful that you just spread the state's propaganda so uncritically on an OWS resistance site. The dirty laundry of the state and the bigger capitalist system is too evident for most if not all those who are interested in OWS - and it has the smell of dying corpse.
Were any protesters charged with assaulting a police officer?

An old friend of my family was a Seattle police officer. He retired and we were sharing a beer one night in a tavern and he revealed something that still bothers me. He worked the waterfront beat and said once that, "for fun", he and his fellow officers would search for drunks along the waterfront to beat up. He was proudly relating this story to me as I was silently getting sick to my stomach.
I suppose there are bad apples in all facets of society.

Why would you think I would lie about that? He would also confiscate fireworks and bring them to the county where I lived and light them off on the 4th of July.
For that matter, I knew a sheriff in a small town that had friends in the Seattle police dept. who would shake down drug dealers and then give them to the sheriff where I lived who then sold them to the locals.
I don't lie. I believe that the only thing a person really owns is their word. Everything else is all illusion and display.

What is it inside your brain that makes you have a need to be such a person? Why can't you carry on a conversation without becoming a rude person?

OWS is full of it! The US is sick of these clowns. These people need to give up, pack their bags and move to North Korea already.
As evidence this video is poor. The quality sucks, it's impossible to identify the object or where it came from a general direction is not evidence against one person or even group of persons.
I noted the gas canister that the police claim was not one of theirs (I say claim because I can not ascertain the correctness of this statement). Yet no one appears to claim that this canister was deployed during the altercation with the police. It's simply implied.
I don't know how many on this forum or reading this thread have been on a 'dock', I do know I have been on many occasions. I know there is always a lot of 'trash', rebar, pieces of wood, cans and various types of canisters littering the properties.
I'll freely admit that OWS attempts to 'spin' events to the media, I have no doubt other agencies are more practiced at it and do not hesitate to use it.
It's simply how things are so often presented in attempts to influence public opinion.
The object that was thrown arcs high thru the air, doesnt appear to be thrown to hit a police officer.
It maybe that all the protesters were being cuffed, on the ground, so WHO threw the object?
That is just it, throw up into the air isn't exactly the way to 'target' anything. As to who threw it, that isn't even up for debate, there is a general direction it comes from and that's it.

Sirs, It is a war. But wait a minute! This war is peaceful full-heartedly. Regretfully peaceful people cannot fight with those who turn the protest to violence. Still, part of the war is too keep the protest peaceful; against snatchers and agent provocateurs and against gratuitously violent people who might consider it a fun to turn the protest to riot and violence.

Throwing bricks is unsafe for everyone, I am not happy to hear about this. I once got a black eye from an EMPTY drink bottle thrown from a distance at a Mardi Gras celebration. On the whole, OWS is peaceful, I have seen more reports of aggression from police.

The real 99% should be there with cameras ready to film the 1% you described as thugs and troublemakers attacking the police. These people are the ones that cause the pepper spray to fly and tear gas to be used.
