Forum Post: Santas Occupy NYC Library

On Dec. 10 thousands of 20 and 30-something Santas took to the streets of Manhattan from Wall St. to Central Park. Loud sloganeering to the tune of "Jingle Bells" was rampant on the subways. By late afternoon, intoxication was rampant as large groups of red and white Santas blocked passage on city sidewalks. At about 4:00, hundreds of Santas occupied the main entrance of the NYC library at Bryant Park. No nasty threats from Hizzoner, no police presence, no arrests.

Double standard? Just a little fun? Police tired from the Dec. 8 raid?

Now we know that 18 mayors decided in a telephone conference to use police in nationally coordinated raids to evict Occupiers. Should we hope that President Obama will use RICO laws to prosecute this conspiracy to deny the right to assembly and speech? ;-)
