I live in an area dominated by those whose thinking is based on the religious dogma of the bible thumping sort. While there was some attention given to the fact that Romney's brand of religion is an issue for these folks, it did not have much follow through. These people equate Mormans to non-Christian cultists and will not vote for someone who can't pass the Christian litmus test. Add to that his history of being less conservative and you have a solid percentage of people who have a problem with him. The question then comes down to if they will cave or not when it comes to voting for someone they know is Morman, or someone they "know" is a secret Muslim not born in the US.
