Wampum we call "more than money". Historically, wampums are made from abalone shells and it takes hundreds of hours of work to cut them and drill them and shave them down to these tiny little cylindrical beads. And then they are assembled into belts that tell a specific story of a specific event in time. And this always involves a treaty or a promise. So the wampum is valuable in it's own right but when assembled it becomes "more than money". Some of the stories even describe supernatural beings like Spider Woman as trading in wampums so this is like a transcendental currency to us.
So we kind of like this idea.
As a part-native i fully support this idea but this might be just because I happen to own some of our wampums so that basically means I'm rich in the new Wampum economy.

Ha. No, thanks. I actually thought that you were joking about wampum. I had NO idea that it was still even in existence! But you subsequently posted the "more than money" info and I realized that you actually have experience with this and it is very cool. And you would definitely be the Bill Gates of the new economy if that became the currency.

I have hundreds of old trade beads my GG granfather took off of dead injuns, I will be in the 1% if we use Wampum.

But first test it out in OWS to get the homeless to protest with us. Also a fail safe that destroy the value of it if it is being hoarded. The Wampum can be used to "buy" food @ OWS.
This should not cancel out all technological innovations.
