13 million people called their representatives. I put my website ( http://freeindependentsun.com ) on strike Wednesday and even my Mom took the time to stop by Lynn Wolsey's office personally to tell her about it. It worked. This is what we can do with EVERY BILL.

Just because these bills are dead now, doesn't mean that similar ones won't be introduced in the future. We all need to regularly check the Congressional voting schedule, and call our representatives.

Don't wait until Empire to get active, by then it'll be too late. Stay active and on the ball. Let's pick a day every week during each Congressional session to call about the bills being introduce. A new bill every week at least. You can also call to support bills.

This is how Representative Democracy works. "A republic, if we can keep it!"

This is basically what I've been saying all along; disengaging from the system makes you a sitting duck. Reengaging, on the other hand, and holding the system to the same rules it's supposed to be operating by is what forces the system to work again. A democracy is only as good as its citizens are intelligent and up-to-date; the more we get involved in the political discourse and the more willing we are to hold our representatives to their rhetoric the better the country we will have.

Great talk about Occupy activism and how it can have a huge effect on the process if it...gets involved with the process. Meet with your representatives, hold them to their positions at the ballot (if a Democrat fails; vote for their Green challenger, if a Republican fails, vote for their Libertarian challenger).

There is so much we can do if we calm down and get involved and do so in a focused and intelligent manner.
