Forum Post: Religious Liberty Thrown Under the Bus for $6/Month... Thanks Leftists

Posted 12 years ago on March 7, 2012, 8:09 a.m. EST by shamefuldays (-42)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

Leftists support throwing religious freedom under the bus for $6/month. That's the cost of birth control and that's what's being done to Georgetown and other Catholic institutions that don't believe in buying someone else's birth control. So, rather than asking students, COLLEGE students, to be a little resourceful and find birth control some other way or attend some other college, Georgetown is being forced to bundle birth control in its tuition. That's right bundle into its tuition because NOTHING in the government mandate makes it free.

It's shameful how cheap the price of freedom has become. NO ONE is denying ANYONE access to ANYTHING, yet nonetheless, religious freedom is the victim.

What birth control pills are $6 a month with no insurance? Are these from the 70's?

[-] -1 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

No, today. Check Walmart of Target. To leftists, even the smallest bit of resourcefulness is beyond all of us, and, apparently, especially so for law school students.

[-] 1 points by RedSkyMorning (220) 12 years ago

No I meant are they generics of drugs developed in the 70's? I take BC for migraines and other medical conditions and they cost $50 a month even as a generic. Walmart doesn't carry them under that I plan, though I know what you are talking about. I have Tricare and had to get special approval for them since I get negative side-effects from older types of BC. It's not really one size fits all with medications.

[-] -1 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Not everything is that cheap, but some things are.

What's funny too is that the moonbats cry about access as though Georgetown is blocking access. But they aren't. Plenty of paths exist for access from buying it yourself, to having a different policy in place, to going to a different school in the first place if this is your number one issue.

But the left's religious bigotry has them overlooking something else that genuinely is an issue of access: Birth control pills aren't over-the-counter. This doesn't even occur to them. if they were, costs would be lower and that would improve access without so trampling one religious freedom. But they want to trample that freedom and they especially are bigoted towards Catholics.

[-] 3 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

Oh yes, leftists are opposed to religious freedom!

The lies you people spew finally just lead me to have complete contempt for you, your thinking, your integrity, and the value of your place in our society. The whole world is repulsed by you people, and when you think about it, that's not a very good boat to be in.

I would beseech those true conservatives and liberatarians to join this debate if they want their beliefs to be heard, because every day that passes your views are being rendered more ludicrous and intollerent by these provocaturs, until soon you will simply be shunted aside altogether as being too irrational to be taken seriously at all.

[-] -2 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Yes, they are. And their religious bigotry is showing big time.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

Who?

[-] 3 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

So any employer can withhold insurance coverage for anything as long as he declares it is against his religious beliefs? What about the First Church of Unfettered Profits; aren't they - as a religious organization that believes spending the least they are allowed for employees is God's law - allowed to withhold ALL medical benefits?

Georgetown can deny that for all of its students of every faith? Can they impose their faith on non-Catholic adherents of church dogma?

That's called theocracy, not religious freedom.

No one is forcing a pill down anyone's throat and thwarting their religious beliefs. They are making sure doctors instead of employers get to make medical decisions for patients.

[-] -2 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Sure, why not? Why does government insist that my compensation be split between cash and healthcare, and in particular, the healthcare that they deem that I should be forced into? Why? Why can't I get my comp and then do what I want with it? And why can't I observe what an employer or school is offering and then decide if I like it or not? And why can't an employer or school observe if what it offers gets employees or students and then decide what it wants to do about that? What pathetic excuse do you have for taking aways people's freedom?

Here's something really hard to comprehend. YOU DON'T HAVE TO ATTEND GEORGETOWN. Shocking, huh? Theocracy, dumb ass, is a form of government, not what a school does.

Employers are making choices? Huh? The employees or students are making the choices. Gheeesch, where do you get this stuff?

[-] 3 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

The government has a right to make sure everyone has access to health care insurance. It is in the public interest.

And since the only way to get that healthcare affordably is through employers, it has the right to mandate that coverage.

As to the school, the institution is NOT buying health insurance or the students. It is simply administering the purchase BY the students of the group plan. And it is refusing to allow they to buy a plan that includes hormone therapy. That decision ONLY effects women, and they are the ONLY ones who are forced to choose between getting comprehensive, affordable health care and the education they were smart enough to gain entry to. NO man has to make that choice. It is sexism, pure and simple.

[+] -4 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

See, we're supposed to make sure of that ourselves.

That's a lie.

The school doesn't cover some things, plain as day. It's their religion, pure and simple. Go somewhere else, they'll happily add the $6/month to your tuition and your life will be complete. And religious freedom will have weathered another bigoted liberal attack.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

The school has no religion. It is OWNED by a religious institution. It is NOT a parish church. It is a university. It's students are from every faith. It's faculty are not performing religious duties. It's secretaries and janitors are not sworn to the Pope. The university is an employer, and in that capacity it is secular. Nor is it a seminary training nuns and monks and priests. As an educational institution, it is secular.

The school certainly doesn't cover everything. In fact, it covers nothing. The insurance plan that is paid for BY THE STUDENTS provides the coverage. And what the university doesn't permit to be available in that one plan specifically effect ONLY WOMEN.

You sexism is the bigotry here. The freedom of choice is not equal for men and women. It forces ONLY women to look for another school. That's called discrimination, not religious freedom. What of the religious freedom for half the students?

You have been told what the real price of hormone therapy is at least 3 times now. Repeating your LIE about it does not make it any truer.

[-] -2 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

And every one of those students knew ahead of time what was covered and was not covered. The entire story is trumped up nonsense. No one is being denied anything.

I know that leftists are looking for any angle possible here. The sexism ploy is yet another one.

Yes, I've been "told" what the price of hormone replacement therapy is. So, BUY IT. Reaching for extreme cases is just another reach as you look for any available angle to express your religious bigotry.

[-] 0 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

"BUYING" it is $1000.00 per year, moron. Lots of students don't have that kind of money. Denying the students the right to BUY an INSURANCE PLAN that covers it is DISCRIMINATION.

You claim that students knew ahead of time what was covered ond not covered in the University's insurance plan. Are you kidding me? Who the hell knows what is in one's insurance plan when accepting a SCHOOL? Most of the time one doesn't know the extent of coverage even after one's been on a plan for months.

But that's not the point, and you know it, since IT HAS BEEN POINTED OUT TO YOU SEVERAL TIMES. THe issue is that not offering the coverage, or rather, not ALLOWING the coverage is discrimination all by itself. For the hundreth time cement-head, ONLY WOMEN HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THEIR EDUCATION AND HEALTH COVERAGE.

Saying so is no "leftist ploy. It is simply the facts. Facts that you repeatedly ignore. Your callous dismissal of the issue reveals nothing other than your misogyny.

[-] -1 points by onetime (-67) 12 years ago

what a moron

[-] -3 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Wow, that's just impossible. LOL But, of course, you dumb fucks seem to think buying insurance that buys you the medicine is somehow cheaper. Sure, and a resourceful law school grad at a $30k/year is reasonable perplexed as to how to solve this minor problem.

Leftists will use anything to pry open the door and trample the church. The school doesn't pay for birth control, period. They don't buy it for men and they don't buy it for women. They also don't cover every other possible treatment under the sun. And EVERYONE knows that that goes to school there. If this for some bizarre reason is your number 1 priority, go somewhere else. NO ONE is stopping you.

Choose between their education and healthcare? What nonsense. How fucking helpless are you? Callous? It isn't callous to call out feigned victimhood.

Religious bigotry. You leftists should be ashamed of yourselves, and all over something completely made up.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

The religious bigotry is allowing EMPLOYERS to determine health care coverage based on their beliefs alone, imposing their will on women, especially women who are poor, those who can't attend without financial aid. And the "pill" is NOT a condom. Suggesting an equivalence only shows how absolutely distorted your thinking is. It's use as birth control is is the least of the medical use.

Finally, a university is NOT a church. No pastoral functions are being impinged upon. No one's religious freedom is being denied. No one is being forced to swallow any pill. Only the church leader's prejudice against and lack of understand of women's needs is forcing anything. It is forcing women to pay up to $1000.00 more for their medical needs than men have to pay for theirs.

But at least you have backed off of your BIG STINKING LIE that the cost is $6 dollars a month.

[-] -1 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Imposing their will on women? More victim nonsense. Do they follow them around? Do they spread rumors? Do they slash to tires of their cars? Do they stop people from buying their own healthcare "insurance" outside the school? Do they stop people from attending different schools? Just curious how paranoid you victimologists can be.

It does cost as little as $6/month, with some birth control being about $1/fuck for condoms. I don't expect the helpless-class to figure that out because you're too busy wringing your hands and waiting for someone else to solve your problems for you, but for the rest of us, finding that cost isn't that hard.

Health plans aren't required to cover everything. Even government plans don't cover everything, in fact, they cover LESS than typical private plans. Digging for some victim status because you can find some condition that isn't covered that men can't get isn't discrimination you loon. Stretch stretch stretch. Reach reach reach. Do what you can to have your excuse to express your religious bigotry. Helplessness. Victimhood. It gets old.

Nice point.

Religious freedom...so an institution has rights?

Hormone therapy has only one purpose?

I look over the documents protecting our freedoms and find they pertain to individuals, men and women both citizens and those who are here temporarily...

I found nothing that prevented an individual from believing in the manner in which they desire to believe, I found very little which prevented an individual from practicing what they believe (beyond the obvious, human sacrifice etc)...

While looking over these documents I came to a conclusion that is reasonably obvious.

That conclusion is that today law makers are encouraging the public to waste energy on things that are national nonissues, and the public is too often buying in.

There are far more urgent items that call for our attention.

[-] -2 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

The institution is just the people and the values that form the institution.

It's just disgusting at how fast leftists are willing to throw freedoms under the bus. For a pissy $6/month, religious liberty is expendable. $6/month that A LAW SCHOOL STUDENT can't seem to manage on her own. You should be ashamed of yourself. Hopefully, someone else doesn't treat your liberties as cheaply. But, of course, you never think of that part.

[-] 2 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Hormone therapy typically costs about $1000.00 per year. More if other medical issues are involved. The school does NOT pay for the insurance. The students pay 100% of it. But the school is only allowing those students to sign up for a group plan that does not include the coverage. It is an infringement on the STUDENT'S rights.

[-] -3 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Great, so buy it. NOTHING in what the school does is a secret. If you're that concerned about this particular feature of a college, among the myriad of things you might be concerned about, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I'm surprised some of you stupid fucks don't sign up for the University of Minnesota, bitch about the winters, and then demand the government make them relocate to Florida. Sure, you could claim it's a health issue.

[-] 0 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Right. Females should not be allowed access to medical insurance THAT THEY PAY FOR and their education. THey have to choose one or the other because of their health issues.

Yeah, that's not sexist at all!

[-] -2 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

They are getting the insurance that THEY PAY FOR. No one claimed something was covered, but then didn't provide coverage. Are your reasoning skills so fucking gone and your so eagerness to trash someone else's rights so intense that that's not obvious?

[-] 2 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

The point is that it only effects WOMEN, not MEN. The point is it SHOULD be covered, dummy. Your failure to grasp that it is discriminatory shows you don't have a CLUE. You sexism is extreme.

[-] 1 points by PandoraK (1678) 12 years ago

I keep pointing out that there are much MORE important issues we face as a nation today...let the kiddies play while the adults sort things out.

[-] -2 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Yes, we do have more important issues. So, leave the church alone. Grow the fuck up and like an all grown up big boy or girl, crack the code of how to buy birth control for yourself. If having birth control bundled in your tuition payment, pick a school that does that. You have loads of choices. Yes, then move on to something more worthwhile.

[-] 1 points by PandoraK (1678) 12 years ago

It never ceases to amaze me...people can agree with the principle yet have to tag on meaningless drivel and continue to promote that drivel.

So like I said, let the adults sort things out.

There is no real religious freedom anywhere. If you don't believe it, start preaching the real truth and see how long it takes to be out in jail or shot on the balcony of a motel in Memphis TN. As long as you preach smooth things they leave you alone, once you point out the ungodly decisions made by any government, puff ! You are gone. BC

[-] 1 points by chell1 (4) 12 years ago

An employer must provide the means for health coverage; health coverage includes women's services..and if we want to get technical..it also provides the erectile dysfunction drugs so many rich, white men use as well. We, the taxpayers, have paid for your boners, for some time now (..along with your suntans etc..SAD: Seasonal Affective Disorder..the diagnosis utilized by many an insurance company to cover their more 'special' clients tanning salon visits.) This is a non-issue on so many levels it is absurd that we are still talking about it. Do you realize how ridiculous this is to those who do NOT live in the USA? The churches of America want freedom? Fine! No more taxpayer funds for them then! And they can start paying taxes to boot.

[-] -3 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Why must an employer do any of that? When I take a job somewhere, are they adopting me? Should we have a law to make them buy me toothpaste too? How about an employer offers you a job and then you decide if you want to take it? Why should government be forcing the mix of my compensation towards healthcare spending? Why can't I decide where to spend my compensation?

[-] 0 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Right. Because they are women who might need medical care for ovarian cysts, they should be denied going to the best school they can. All because some enrobed man decides it is against his principles to allow THEM to purchase - and pay for out of their own pockets - group insurance that he administers.

After all, they are only women, and should be forced to choose between their health and their education.

If it was a man who had to choose between his education and medical care for testicular cancer, I imagine you would come to a different conclusion.

Really thought this through, haven't you? NOT.

[-] -3 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

So, now we have a national issue of ovarian cyst sufferer discrimination and need to launch them as a new protected class. LOL. Are you people fucking for real?

Lack of sunlight makes me sad. Boohoo. But I'm going to enroll in the University of Minnesota. Then, I'll see if you fucknut leftists will join me in asking the federal government to move the campus to Miami? Are you people really this stupid? Sadly, I already know.

NO ONE IS FORCING ANYONE TO CHOOSE ANYTHING. Buy the fucking birth control. What is this nut-case demand that the school bundled it in tuition payments?

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

You are so full of misinformation and distortions and sexist assumptions it is like trying to unravel a tapestry on thread at a time.

[-] -3 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Distortions? You must be referring to the Sandra Fluke testimony. You know, the testimony where she claimed that law school students attending a $30k/year school couldn't figure out how to buy birth control, leftists jumped on it, and threw the school's religious freedom under a bus over $6/month.

[-] -1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Go fuck yourself with that 6 dollars a month shit. If you actually listened to her testimony, you would know how much of a LIE that is.

[-] -3 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

More leftist emotion. Listening to her testimony only reveals what a lie her testimony is. It's wildly exaggerated stories of presumably helpless LAW SCHOOL STUDENTS attending a $30k/year institution that pretend they're being denied access to healthcare. It relays a tale of a friend that we're supposed to believe in so emotionally fragile that a pharmacist can crush her sense of self because of a simple decline and that all that is the school's fault. In response, she worries about trivial birth control pill coverage and not coverage for a psychotherapist, which is pretty damn funny.

It's raw emotion without critical thought and questioning. It's for leftists looking for any excuse they can lay their hands on to express their religious bigotry. It lacks even the simplest questioning of the poor poor pity claims. For example, for the woman begging poverty, no one asked if she has a cell phone.

[-] 0 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Raw emotion? This was testimony, factual, and designed to stir emotion. THat what testimony os for.

You, on the other hand, have done nothing but repeat talking points of another's invention. And since they all contained lies and distortions that I have corrected repeatedly, your maintaining your outrage is nothing other than "emotional".

That "cell phone" bullshit is just another one of the talking points, that comes up consistently in your fellow troll's posts and is clearly coordinated by the central Nazi committee. It's necessary, I suppose, since you right wingers are unable to actually think for yourselves.

[-] -1 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

It was laughable it invites mockery.

I know dependent-class types like you would never ask about priorities knowing that we're all just victims and entitled to things, but many of us think you should try to solve your own problems first. Radical, I know. LOL.

We're not only able to think for ourselves, we're also able to provide for ourselves. And when we're not, we don't expect to be foisted upon other people until we've exhausted our own options. This too is radical, of course. $6/month is crushing burden deserving of trampling religious freedom. Never mind the $60/month data plan; only Nazis would ask meanie questions like that. LOL.

[-] 0 points by XenuLives (1645) from Charlotte, NC 12 years ago

Well maybe if you stopped spreading your religious delusions on us like a virus we would leave you alone. But NO, you have to attack everyone who doesn't buy your stupid fiction hook, line, and sinker.

We're not going to take your shit anymore. We're going to force you to be human beings, whether you like it or not. I'm going to fight you hateful Christians until your lies and hate are put back where they belong: in churches and churches ONLY. [-] 3 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

No one is buying the student's health insurance but the students. They pay for 100% of the cost. The college only administers the group plan and is refusing to allow that plan to cover hormone therapy. So even your repulsive selfishness is unaffected.

[+] -4 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Great, but they don't want to be doing that and EVERYONE KNOWS they don't want to be doing that. If your life revolves around that, pick another school.

Now, if you want to go buy a policy independent of the school that covers whatever the fuck you want, they're ok with that. NO ONE WOULD STOP YOU. Likewise, you're paying for it right? So, fucking pay for it. Show up at Walmart, plop down your buck for a rubber or $6/month for birth control pills AND BUY THEM. Observe carefully how NO ONE STOPS YOU.

[-] 1 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

Without insurance, the pill, which is used 53% of the time for NON-contraceptive use, is typically over $1000.00 per year.

Why should only women be forced to choose between getting (as in paying fully for) health insurance and the educational institution of her choice? Why is it that only men aren't required to make that choice?

[+] -4 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Great, and bundling it in tuition payments still doesn't make it free. Let that sink in for a second.

Pick another school. You have your freedom. Georgetown should have its too.

It's chilling how fast liberals will trash the freedom of others. The depth of religious bigotry is something to fear.

[-] 2 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

It is NOT bundled into tuition. It is the medical plan the school offers.

Why should only women have to make that choice? Why is THEIR freedom to attend the school of their choice while maintaining their health not the same as any man's? Sexist.

[+] -5 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

So, they can't buy birth control, but want instead to buy healthcare insurance policies that buy it for them. LOL.

[-] 5 points by epa1nter (4650) from Rutherford, NJ 12 years ago

They have a right to medicine as much as any man has. If a university makes a health care plan mandatory and offers only one, it is DISCRIMINATORY for it to only include coverage that MEN need.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

The day after I gave birth to my child I had a tubal ligation. I did this because even when you are married and you have a child then you have to try to look into the future far enough to consider raising this child as a single parent. I knew that, come hell or high water, that I could get this one child fed and clothed and through the age of 18. However, if I had two or three then I don’t know that I could pull that off. It was a battle to get that tubal ligation because they didn’t want me to come back and try to sue them for it. By the same token, it wasn’t too long ago that they would have refused unless consent of my father or husband was given.

I was thirty when I had my child. So, I already knew what kind of world that we live in and I knew that life happens when you are busy making other plans. I told the doctor that if we got to a point that we wanted to have another child then we could adopt. I repeated that line until I went under because they kept asking me if I was sure that I wanted to do this. I haven’t had any problems with this decision at all.

However, it is neither fair nor just to make a comparison between my choices and that of another. If people did what I thought that they should do then this conversation would not be happening. They do not. This is a matter of insurance. If money is your motivator then please consider this

[-] -3 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Someone was willing to fuck you? Wow, that is a remarkable story.

It may be a matter of insurance, but it still isn't a matter for government. You are free to make all sorts of decisions. You can buy insurance for this and that, just this and not that or whatever the hell you please. You can also choose where to live and where to go to school. The school is clear as day about what the school is like, what the classes are like, what the student body is like and what their student health plan covers and doesn't cover. Use your freedom and make choices that fit you and your leftist everyone's a victim world-view. But don't trample on Georgetown's freedom to be the kind of school it wants to be in the process.

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

LOL @ your failed attempt to slam. Yeah. Finding someone who is willing to fuck me has never been an issue, Sweetie.

Let me break this down for you and you should keep this in mind for all of your religious affiliated institutions. Don't want to accept federal guidelines? Don't accept federal money! Yep.

[-] -1 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

A guy, you mean? Wow. Was he paid by some federal program?

Great, shrink taxes 50%, give us back the freedom they took when they took our money in the first place and it won't be a problem for anyone.

Don't like our freedom? Don't ask for our money. Yep.

Here's a shocker for Leftists like you: What people have isn't a gift from government, it's a residual after what was taken.

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Shrink taxes.........stop public funding of religious affiliated institutions. Start taxing the hell out of religious affiliated institutions like hospitals....

Don't accept federal money? Don't take it in the first place.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

You don't understand anything.

Thanks for playing.

[-] -1 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

You're just another freedom crushing hater.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Yeah, ok there little buckaroo.

Good morning Girl. You present another fine point -

Don't want to accept federal guidelines? Don't accept federal money! Yep.

But the corrupt don't want to acknowledge truth - they want to have their cake and eat it too. Along with everyone's cake as well.

Their actions speak truth, their words are camouflage.

More people are becoming aware of truth.

So we continue to move forward - Together.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Good morning, DKA.

This whole lie is exactly have their cake and eat it too. It is simply another attempt to manipulate the public and spread disinformation.

Forward Together.

[+] -5 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Exactly it is a designed attack - an attack to outrage the public on an essentially charged subject.

Look past the connotation of religion and look to the fact of business.

Awareness is growing.

We do move forward - Together.

Welcome to the forum.Sorry that your freedom has been sold for six bucks a month.Don't worry the church will survive. And as always prosper. You must be a conservative always runing around shouting THE SKY IS FALLING.

[-] -2 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

The sky isn't falling, but freedom is being discarded out of the casual religious bigotry of liberals. And all over something trivial like simply getting yourself birth control. Sure, you can handle law school, but birth control is perplexing. Yeah, that's credible. So, for nothing, we us government force against religious freedom. It's wrong.

[-] 0 points by freehorseman (267) from Miles City, Mt 12 years ago

So move to vatican city

[-] 0 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

you know if it was any body else other than the catholics, id care, but how could we forget they killed lots of people in the name of their religion, just ask any mexican today what religion they are, their grandparents had genocide commited against them if they didnt become catholic. Funny I dont see the term "catholic" which means generic all purpose in the bible.

Women gain healthcare, much needed healthcare. Not everyone wants to die for made up fairytale gods. You get what you always have religious freedom. Seperation of church and state my friend we cannot impose religious dogma on people at the risk of their health or lives just to save corporations a buck.

[-] -1 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Pssst, here's a secret: No one's stopping you. Bundling birth control into the cost of tuition isn't magic. You pay one way or another.

We're talking college students, not retarded people in some institution (although liberalism has been referred to a mental disorder). Honest to shit, they can't manage some way under the sun to buy birth control? That isn't remotely credible as a real problem.

[-] 0 points by Newspeak1 (39) from Mt Shasta, CA 12 years ago

Well said. And they won't listen. They are too smart for that.

[-] -1 points by Carlitini99 (-167) 12 years ago

The Left, the mainstream media, and the White House have successfully changed a serious religious freedom issue (mandating the Church to pay for contraception) into a fake women's health issue. Fluke is a fake brought in by Pelosi and Ann Dunn to change the debate to one of women's health. Poor little Georgetown 1% women law students can't afford their wittle contraception, let's all cry for them...

[-] 0 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

Absolutely. How gullible do you have to be to buy that testimony? The Left's willingness to run with such an incredible trumped up piece of B.S. just reveals their religious bigotry. They're especially primed to go after Catholics and look for an excuse no matter how transparently ridiculous.

Fear not for we shall tax the poor with veiled ploys designed to confuse retarded republicans. It shall be paid for by their children.

We shall assume no responsbility if the pills do not prevent pregnancy and I promise you, I'll be sure and slip in some sugar pills in mass for many who insist on doing it in the azz.

This world is full of many who were conceived that way.

Thank me very much.

And they will understand not one word you speak. Liberals only care about their definition of freedom. And it is very different from what any decent, thinking person thinks it is.

[-] 1 points by TitusMoans (2451) from Boulder City, NV 12 years ago

Who are the "decent, thinking" people? Those that agree with you?

Since decency is relative to the person, society, and culture and thinking only indicates sequential, organized brain activity, "decent, thinking" people could be anybody including someone who disagrees with me or you.

As for a "definition of freedom," your definition is probably much more restrictive than mine, since I believe all people are equally entitled to voice their opinions without me judging them as to their "decency" or "thinking."

[-] -3 points by shamefuldays (-42) 12 years ago

It's interesting how quickly and with so little reason leftists will take our freedoms. This one is over some trumped up story over denial of medical care, which isn't remotely credible. Just think what they'd do to your freedom if they had a real reason.

[-] -1 points by BlackSun (275) from Agua León, BC 12 years ago

Yes. But they will do it because they are convinced that their way is the only way to utopia. They are the smartest and most compassionate people on earth. The ends justifys the means in their view. And this is why they will turn our society into a torpid, bankrupt, enabler of the 1% they pretend to hate. And their so called ideals will only lead to a totalitarian state. But that's okay because it will be a liberal totalitarian state. And all will be happy.
