Now the occupy movement needs a focus:: the Citizens United law says that corporations are equal to people and entitled to the same rights!! This is a good issue to focus on!! It's not about any political party.
It’s true that “Citizens United” is a supreme court decision. It’s the law of the land! But so is Roe vs Wade. This does not stop people who oppose Roe from agitating for it’s reversal! They chop away at it at every possible opportunity. They have made it the “litmus test” for who to back politically. They keep it’s provisions in the mind of the public and in the media. Why can’t we do the same with Citizens United? Most people aren’t even aware of how Citizens United stacks the cards in favor of corporations. And , Yes, we should organize a campaign around a constitutional amendment to get rid of it. It couldn’t hurt, even if we don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell at getting it done!! Find out who stands with the United Citizens against Citizens United!!
There is no "Citizens United Law"...Citizens United was a Supreme Court Decision. The only way to overturn it is to get the court to rule differently in a similar case (by judicial packing) or pass a constitutional amendment.
