I have strong respect for what those occupying Wall Street are doing. Inspiring change takes action. I am a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia. While I have never held political office, I have lead as a wife, mom, small-business owner, Marine Corps officer and as an attorney. I strongly believe our nation needs more citizen candidates and less system candidates. When our political leadership is comprised of everyday citizens who understand firsthand the day to day challenge of succeeding in America we’ll be well on our way to getting our nation back on track. If you’d like to learn more, visit my campaign site at www.lynchforva.com and download my platform document, Securing the Future, Restoring the Dream. If I can assist your efforts in anyway, email me at: courtney@lynchforva.com

Together we can make a difference. Keep leading….

Courtney

If you want to help, get out in the street with the protesters. But do not use that platform to try to further your political future.

We are not part of any political party, and we answer to no backers. We are of the people, by the people, for the nation and we will not be used by anybody.

Hey, revg33k, Don't knock knock it until you've tried tried it. Sooner or later, any real reform will have to include elected members of Congress voting for laws that make illegal the behaviors we are protesting with serious consequences for everyone who violates them. If Courtney's way to help is to be one of those people, more power to her. Neither you nor I are going to be one of those people, so we need her. Or are you one of those posting here to ensure we don't get any real results?

No I am all for new blood to change things. Let me try to put what I was saying a different way.

Right now we have a lot of different groups trying to claim control of OWS, the Democrats are calling OWS their own Tea Party, different political figures are trying to alter our direction to align with their own.

I guess what I am trying to say to Courtney here is do not expect some kind of endorsement, or for us to trust her off the bat because of the previously mentioned things there are a lot of people weary of politicians trying to use this movement for their own ends.

Also the best way to earn our respect is to get out there in the street (figurative or literally) as Courtney the person not as Courtney the candidate.

Does that clear up my comments some?

Thank you Courtney.

If I lived in Virginia I'd vote for you.
