A woman was raped and robbed at Occupy Baltimore last Friday.

The police were not notified until Monday. The woman claims no one at the protest was willing to help her.

Yeah, there were six homicides yesterday, and sources tell me that President Obama just sat back and did nothing to stop it.

OWS in Baltimore distributed a memo to people discouraging contact with police if they were sexually assaulted. It wanted them to contact the Security Committee.

This kind of asinine mindset on the part of OWS would actually invite sexual predators to come to the protest.

That's interesting. Did they chain her up and prevent her from calling the police herself?

Good point. I'm female, if I was attacked and wanted to report it, no one could stop me.

Also, I watched the video.

[They refused to help] turns out to mean this, from the victim:

"They don't know anyone's name, they don't know who anyone is"

Yea. There is no registration process or admission process so you are sleeping out in the park with a bunch of anonymous strangers.

Assumed risk? I wouldn't do it.

Also - the OWS spokesperson said: "We have never published information that actively discourages participants here to report situations to the police".

So where is this no-snitch policy? Is it rumor or fact?
