I heard on the radio tonight being quiet is a symptom of being a terrorist. Make sure you join lots of groups and don't enjoy your own company to much. Make sure you always travel in large groups and gatherings and are loud and obnoxious. Don't read by yourself to much (that may be a symptom too) and most importantly don't introspect - always talk first and be belligerent.

We can NOT allow things like this to create a police state or a big brother state. We can not give up freedom and replace it with intrusion. Many Corporations kill more people in a year than this incident; the ratio of acts of terror in comparison with say car accidents (though this is much more a blow to our systems and psyche because of it's viscous nature) are small.

we can not let our society become a paranoid police state - if we do then the terrorists will surely have succeeded at taking away our freedom - they WILL have succeeded at their intended goal. They hate our freedom, they hate our ability to walk around without chains or censorship - they do want to take it away - they know how - and they have taken action to make that happen. Don't let them win.

1/3 to half of all Americans are introverts (and enjoy that freedom allows privacy as do I think most of us)

Why would we worry? Our Indefinite-Detainer-in-Chief is Liberty's Shield for us all.

[-] 1 points by JesseHeffran (3903) 10 years ago

Why is that righties are always immature cynics whose arguments are juvenile at best? Do you guys read or do find life to be more interesting just guessing your way through it? Indefinite detention is an American policy, not a right or left policy. Instead of passing the blame to a portion of America, you should do some soul searching and fact delving. FYI

You are correct. It is neither right or left. However, when one attacks the current president, one gets accused (as you just did) of being a righty. Too bad this movement didn't start during the Bush years. People would be calling me a leftie.

Our freedoms have been under attack for decades. The current WH occupant has done nothing to change the course. Simple as that. He is just as much a corporate crony as Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter and LBJ (Ford doesn't really count too much). There are those that would count even further back than I have, but I do entertain the theories that JFK posed a threat to the MIC.

I apologize. You make a lot of sense.

[-] 3 points by justiceforzim (-17) 10 years ago

Thanx, apology accepted. I admit I do come off as a rightie here since I am pro 2nd amendment and seem to get into tiffs with some of the leftwing zealots that post here 24/7. I really wish we could shed the l/r paradigm. I also do not understand why gunowners are considered conservative murderers and have been demonized here. The 1% certainly do not support the rkba so I find it very confusing. This movement/website could certainly do with less l/r bs sniping. It can never gain the support it needs if we keep arguing today's political party shit that keeps us divided and conquered. The only color that matters in DC is GREEN. I think of Dems and GOP as good cop/bad cop.

[-] 3 points by JesseHeffran (3903) 10 years ago

Your line of reasoning is sound. I wish we, the people, could come together and vote a third party in, but I also believe that most of the division that we demonstrate is not manufactured but is really a part of who we are. Either because of our up bringing or social economic stature, we really do have different ethical values. I believe cultural diversity is a good thing though. Even if it gets in the way of doing big and transformative things.

What you say is true. But (at least how I understood it and what drew me to this website in '11) was a movement to do something about big money corrupting our political process. Or, greedy politicians accepting big money to corrupt our process. You can't bribe someone who won't take the money. Citizens United has unleashed a shitstorm of money from the rich and powerful. Whether you approve of guns, gays, or abortion it should be a common ground. We need to take our process back. I think our FFs did a pretty darn good job of laying out a system of govt that was meant to prevent the rich from running the country. It is human weakness and greed that has mucked it up. SO, we must develop laws to prevent money from buying influence. Easier said than done, but all the stupid sniping that goes on here serves no purpose. I had hoped after the election the Hatfields and McCoys would put their guns away or retrain them on the real enemy of Amerika.

I don't nesc. think he is party politicking here - what he may be saying is that our President has continued with policy to detain people as well as the Patriot Act - he could be from any party

[-] 3 points by JesseHeffran (3903) 10 years ago

I suppose. And I might be out of line. But those policies were instituted by both parties and are indicative of American character in general. When I am arrested for smoking pot, I know it is not the cop's fault but is the fault of the legislators who wrote the law and the citizens who do not protest the law, so I blame America for their draconian ways.

Yeah, there is something that needs to be defined and understood in the USA.

We have a kind of Moral Majority that has written our Laws. There are some people that dress themselves as conservatives or as Christians.... but the action of Politicians is to take away individual rights and individual choice. I see this as the loss of the Right to Self Determination and Individualism.

But the confusing part is who influences the politicians to pass this laws. We certainly have a tradition of Quakers, Shakers, Catholics, and Protestants. So certain laws where written by Christian Sects.

And current politicians play to this and draw upon this.

But Money is the Great Corruptor. Just look at the Vatican and it's empire. Well, we don't have to repeat the Regulations that were Destroyed after Prosecutions start in the Savings & Loan Scandal Broke. bankers don't want to be implicated or called to testify in front of Congress. And Congress don't want to question the bankers who provide them with Selective Trades that make them rich.

These memes that Pot or Alternative Energy are bad ... these have to go.

They hate our Freedom? Bush called, he wants his line of bullshit back.

[-] -2 points by Builder (4202) 10 years ago

It's your definition of terrorist that needs some work.

[-] 1 points by elf3 (4203) 10 years ago

how do you mean?

[-] 0 points by Builder (4202) 10 years ago

Who invades nations illegally?

Who uses depleted uranium in all their munitions?

Who currently has the worst record for torture of any western nation?

[-] 5 points by elf3 (4203) 10 years ago

ahh but what we have with our Freedom gives the citizenry the ability to protest (like OCCUPY) - like this site we are trying. The more terrorist acts that are committed however, the less power in the end the citizenry and protest groups like us will have over our own government to stop them from doing things we disapprove of here and around the world. The more things like this that happen the worse in fact these problems you listed will get. Hurting innocent people who really have lost a lot of control over their government in recent years as punishment for the actions of their government just causes people to succumb to the authority in trade freedom for safety. Acts of murder and terror are unforgivable. Also plain stupid if the desired goal is to reign in government power and things you speak of; Terrorism causes the government to have and take more authority in trade for safe guarding the people.

[-] 0 points by Builder (4202) 10 years ago

Which is why I wouldn't discount the govt manufacturing terror, just like they actively manufacture consent.

You give them much more credibility than they deserve.

They've been lying for the longest time, and clearly have an agenda for fascist control.

You're still pretending we have an active democracy. It's a sham.

[-] 1 points by elf3 (4203) 10 years ago

When we are losing so much freedom it is difficult not to become paranoid - but talk yourself back from that conspiracy ledge... please. I hope you are not also saying that because a government does something wrong, that it is ok for people to kill innocent people in revenge?

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 10 years ago

Look up operation Northwoods.

Killing people for an agenda is just the beginning.

No conspiracy.

[-] 0 points by justiceforzim (-17) 10 years ago

One man's conspiracy is anothers' open mind.

[-] 0 points by Builder (4202) 10 years ago

The real conspiracy is, why do people who know the govt uses the MSM to spread propaganda, suddenly take every word from the same liars as if it couldn't possibly be a lie?

Two obvious flaws in the story being spread; the backpacks were said to hold a pressure cooker packed with shrapnel and gunpowder, yet one of the suspects has his pack slung casually over one shoulder as if it weighs nothing.

Second; said backpacks were "seen to be left" at the scene of the explosions. Where are these photos?

[-] 0 points by justiceforzim (-17) 10 years ago

Really....I want to see the video of the kid putting the pack down. I'd also like to see the video of Lanza entering the school and ANY video of James Holmes in the theater.
