Hello. Much props to everyone out there occupying. Went by DC and NYC last week and was very inspired by the movement.
Question for someone actively involved: Unless I'm mistaken, I understand that there are currently no "demands" or clear-cut goals of OWS. Is this a stated intention of OWS or is this a "wait-and-see" and specific goals will emerge naturally?
Stated otherwise, is OWS against specific goals, or simply hasnt created them?
Thank you and keep it up!
I love the "deliberately hasn't created demands" nonsense. What you mean to say is you are too un-organized to get permits for demonstrations and thus have not even begun to align any stream of interests.
For you that have replied, do you regularly attend the GA meetings?
I personally recommend considering Democratically beginning to clarify intentions, potential demands, and goals. Consider an on-the-ground, purple finger vote, inking the fingers of all who mobilize to vote, so that none may vote more than once.
Experiment with getting some grass roots numbers - some percentages. Let them speak at first. Develop issues, questions, and potential options and answers in the General Assembly. Imagine the image of a movement raising a multitude of purple fingers as they grow and Occupy an increasingly hamonious voice.
Up with Democracy! Down with the corporatocracy. We, the people Are!
OWS deliberately hasn't created specific goals to inspire debate, so perhaps you would consider our group's proposal of an alternative online direct democracy of government and business at http://getsatisfaction.com/americanselect/topics/on_strategically_weighted_policies_organizational_operating_structures_tactical_investment_procedures-448eo and then direct questions or comments to our group's 19 members committed to that plan at: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/StrategicInternationalSystems/
They are currently trying to figure out, what went wrong and how to fix this. And therefore it is good not to have any demands or clear goals because mainstream media is just waiting to disrupt this movement.
But maybe the following link will get official when they realize that there is no stable solution for the 100% if we will try this in our current system.
