I’m sure this has been addressed before but this is something that gets the attention of the big banks. Your money!!!

Pull your money from large national banks. Every home town has locally owned banks. Make sure your bank is in no way connected. Many banks appear to be locally owned but are actually subsidiaries of larger national banks. Do your home work and pull your money out.

Why don't we create a OWS Credit Union ; it would create jobs for us, and starve the bankig beast

There are banks, I did have to go to the next smaller town to find one. It's a little more time consuming if I have to do some actual business, but it's worth it. The post is correct about Federal Credit Unions, there are no ATM fee's. Keep things on a local level as much as possible...And under the mattress was how my grandparents and several Uncles & Aunts lived. Since I am still employed I can't make it up there, but will do what I can to make a statement to support what the protestors are doing. We all need to make some changes... I like the national transfer day.. how can we make that official or is it?

CRASH JP MORGAN, BUY SILVER. Anyone who has a savings account should be getting precious metals to preserve their purchaing power against an inflationary FED.

Also Silver is down right now.. good time to buy...

You can even own your money by joining a credit union since they are member owned. Deposits are Federally insured, they have locations throughout the US and many are members of a co-op so you can access ATMs free of charge in a wide variety of locations:

Following Senator Durbin's call for pulling money from BofA. Once again, just following the instructions of the democratic party

November 5th 2011 BANK TRANSFER DAY A sweeping movement to get everyone to take your money out of banks and put it into credit unions. THE POWER OF NUMBERS WILL SEE A SIGNIFICANT DIP. If we can do it all at once we can send a clear message! Start now by encouraging Credit Union speakers to attend Occupy __ events and educate participants. Pass this on. November 5th. Where do you suggest we put it? Under our mattress? Pretty much all of the local banks were bought out by Bank of America or Wells Fargo. I'd rather put my money into stocks that have good dividends.

if you can't find a local small bank but have savings, pull them out of the big bank and privately lend them to someone you trust

[-] 1 points by AN0NYM0US (640) 12 years ago

Or you can do what they do and put them overseas.

don't be greedy yourself ! by lending it yourself to someone privately, you help that person and reduce the profits on loans made by the big bank.

[-] 1 points by feDup (37) 12 years ago

and also risk the chance of them never paying you back, which is worse than a bank making some interest.

who do you trust more , friends and family, or the corporations you are trying to boycott and/or occupy ????????

[-] 1 points by feDup (37) 12 years ago

I trust the corporations that give me nice dividends every quarter. Family and friends...shit, been burned by them more than once.

True.

And that's what put the banks into business in the first place. Our own lack of integrity and inability to trust one another.
