The courthouses are a fitting end also, provided they are filled to the brim with convictions against the criminals who have been preying upon the people.

[-] 4 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

That day will come, perhaps sooner that we think!

[-] 2 points by FawkesNews (1290) 12 years ago

Any change is going to have to come directly from the masses. Only then will the courts respond appropriately. One million signatures just said it is possible. Thanks.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

You're damn right it does! Anyone who tells us this movement doesn't have support just has to look at those 1 million sugnatures and weep!

[-] 2 points by FawkesNews (1290) 12 years ago

When those signatures have a face put to them and those faces begin to assemble, there will be an unstoppable mass, bent upon change. Educate the one million into two million. From there four million is right around the corner. That is exponential, and good.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

Yeah, and speaking of educate, if there's one thing Americans should simply refuse to accept anymore it's lousy education! How on earth are we going to survive as a first world nation without a first rate education? Surely anyone can see that! Demand first quality public schools for all!!!

[-] 1 points by FawkesNews (1290) 12 years ago

Again, I agree wholeheartedly. Education cuts have been used as weapon against the people of this country for a substantial time. Unfucking the schools is a first priority. Thank you.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

Absolutely! The funding attacks against American education by the neo-cons could be legitimately seen as an attack on the nation itself, at least as devastating as 911. I don't care what anybody says, that is the truth. The education of a nation's children should be it's highest priority, because only in that, and not a huge and bloated military lies national security.

For over 30 years public education, the right and necessity for all, the right a first class nation, has been so starved of funding to the degree that it seems to have become our lowest priority. This must end!

[-] 1 points by FawkesNews (1290) 12 years ago

Only by lowering the standard of education is it possible to create a warrior class of ignorant, racist and pliable lackeys, loyal only to a false currency. Those lackeys now inhabit all branches of government and most of the media. The wealthy remain educated, through private education, and are thus liable, to the fullest degree for the wrongdoings they have knowingly perpetrated upon their fellow man. That is why sympathy is best reserved for the deserving, and not worth squandering on the guilty, Thanks.

Court proceedings can be long drawn and expensive and full of sham and loopholes and "quid pro quo" affairs.

Can there be People's Courts to address these issues, to lead the "politically appointed" courts and to get them moving?

[-] 1 points by FawkesNews (1290) 12 years ago

I don't know what a peoples court is. I do know a military tribunal option is a method of eradicating traitorous individuals from court systems and government positions. It seems difficult for a military to relinquish power but they seem to do so inevitably. Perhaps due to their allegiance to a constitution rather than a PAC or Foreign Agenda.

[-] 1 points by ohmygoodness (158) 12 years ago

I mean something simple, a court be set up with qualified jurists.

The financial executives, lobbyists, politicians, media magnates, supreme court judges (be they active or retired) must be served notices to appear before these judges. If they show up or not, evidence is presented to showcase the crimes that the various individuals have committed.

The judges then pass judgement in accordance with the legal system and/or the legitimacy of the accused's actions, the latter to avoid legal loopholes. Then as per the principles of retributive justice, "Let the punishment fit the crime", the punishment is pronounced.

Ideally, this punishment should be duly carried out, but then again the jury is out with the OWS for the manner how this could be carried out.

While this is being decided, the various individuals will be named, shamed and there will be factual evidence associated with them. Remember these are people hopefully with families and friends who might have some conscience.

[-] 1 points by FawkesNews (1290) 12 years ago

Excellent process. "Qualified Jurists", of course are the fundamental basis of such process and when finally implemented into such a process, justice will be refined, swift and able to set such a new standard. Military personnel should never be excluded from such affairs, as it is they who have the most experience standing, and fighting, for the very laws that will be needed to depose the guilty.

[-] 1 points by ohmygoodness (158) 12 years ago

I am assuming that the military comprises also of people, yes it should be all inclusive.

The higher the involvement from all walks of life, the better.

[-] 1 points by FawkesNews (1290) 12 years ago

Involvement is growing exponentially. Soon the juror pool will become more and more educated and capable. Once "Qualified Jurors" are available to any court system the results from it are profoundly different than the results coming from this current one here in America.

Informative, Thanks much. With facts and statistics like that, it is hard to believe there are not more people in the streets demanding accountability and change.

It's happening ! After only 4 months, OWS & 'Occupiers' Everywhere have had an impact on political and social discourse !! per ardua ad astra !!!

[-] 2 points by FawkesNews (1290) 12 years ago

Indeed! What a great slogan. 4 months of winter I may add. Spring will surely bring forth more than daisies. Open discussions abound. Learn, Educate, Learn more.

[-] 2 points by beautifulworld (23769) 12 years ago

Heroes they are, those protesters.

[-] 3 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

Yes, and it's a damn hard time of the year for people to drop everything an attend a protest. I think these numbers are very encouraging!

[-] -3 points by uncensored (104) 12 years ago

Funny how you are never among them. All talk, all BS, no action. Typical OWS windbag.

[-] 2 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

Hi uncensored. Are you here to contribute something positive?

Or just sliding by to smear a shitstain?

[-] -1 points by uncensored (104) 12 years ago

Who here will determine which post is positive?

[-] 2 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

Who here is making an effort to make a difference to the lives of every American?

Is it you, or not you?

[-] 1 points by uncensored (104) 12 years ago

Yes, I am. But I disagree with many of the goals and most of the methods being implemented by OWS.

[-] 1 points by jrhirsch (4714) from Sun City, CA 12 years ago

Which ones do you agree with?

[-] 1 points by uncensored (104) 12 years ago

I agree on crony capitalism, corporatism, corruption in government on all levels, campaign finance reform, reinstating Glass-Segal, lobbyist reforms. But unlike most of OWS, I don't think the government is the solution to our problems. And as Reagan stated, "...government IS the problem".

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

This is not very clear to me. Can you look at that again and clarify for us?

Reagan said the government is the problem. You don't think the government is the problem. Yet you think there is corruption in government at all levels.

I'm just trying to rationalise your viewpoint here.

And thank you for answering my question.

[-] 0 points by uncensored (104) 12 years ago

That reply was to jrhirsch's question: "Which ones do you agree with?" My assumption was "which OWS grievances do you agree with?".

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

Thanks for your prompt answer.

I don't agree with the methodology in many instances either, but with so many people under a banner of leaderless opposition to the elitist capitalist rule, I guess we gotta learn to all get along. That is, if there's gonna be any progress to be made.

Remember that the current method of control is to divide and conquer.

Cohesiveness is important.

[-] 0 points by uncensored (104) 12 years ago

I disagree with the Jew haters, socialists, anarchists, anti-capitalists, violent antagonists, vandals, etc. that are the face of OWS.

[-] 2 points by therising (6643) 12 years ago

So cool. The people, united, can never be defeated. Thanks for this post. So great to have someone like yourself speaking in a way that rises above all the noise.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

It's proof that the message has spread to a broad crosssecton of the nation. We aren't going away, we're growing!

"Okay."

And that's why this has gone and will go nowhere.

[-] 1 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

I kinda have to agree with you here. One of the most outstanding episodes of the occupation in Zuccotti was avoiding the eviction called for by the park owner by having the big cleanup day. That was brilliant. But in the days leading up to 11/11/11, the writing was on the wall for a concerned and concerted effort to evict. The brilliance was absent at the NYCGA those days. I wrote extensively suggesting that rather than chain supporters to a freezing tent in the name of OWS, the better message would have been to ceremoniously pack up and "leave", demand the city step in to assist the homeless, and issue a promise to return in the Spring.

That would have been a powerful statement. This winter would have been far more productively spent networking and planning (like the National General Assembly!) with well timed spontaneous 'days of action' rather than dealing with 'shit in the parks' images and the NYCGA dealing with in-fighting and scandles. Truly embarrassing it is. 'They' win.

The NYCGA is doing a lousy job because it is too busy defending it's illegitimacy. It should freeze all spending (squandering!) and call for a National General Assembly. PERIOD!

[-] -1 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

Really? 150? Got stats to prove that or is this just more "prose"?

According to the AP:"Facing freezing temperatures and snowy weather, several hundred protesters gathered at courthouses across the nation..."

"A handful of protesters", "dozens", "several".

There were about 200 of us in Albuquerque and constant encouraging waves and honks of approval from passersby.

Go on listening to the corporate media, and the corporate pollsters, it will just add to your surprize in the end.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

Got stats? That's all you ever ask, and yet the stats you produce are all bullshit. What stats exactly? The ones produced by the government, the corporate media, or the corporate pollsters?

You know how I know? It's called education - you might try it.
