I think all protest should arm themselves with shields. That way you have a peaceful way to defend yourselves. If the cops get to violent, you could try to form a shield wall, thus defending the other protesters but not inciting any more violence from the cops. Furthermore, if you want to march forwards and the cops are blocking you, form a shield wall and then just push. Should work. IDK where to get shields though :P. Hope I have at least given you something to think about.
You are not allowed to defend yourself from the law enforcement officers who get paid by the 1 %. I wonder when the National Guard will be called. I wonder if the soldiers will remember they swore an oath to defend the constitution, not corporations, not politicians. We have the right to gather and protest. We have the right but they will take away the ability.

You do not need to force your point. People are watching and listening. That is how you are moving ahead.
Why did the cop use the baton, anyway? Anyone?
right, defending yourself in any way or having any object with which to defend yourself is illegal and will cause them to target you for arrest and then confiscate your toys.
That is an idiotic law. Why should you ever not be allowed to defend yourself? It's not violent, it's as peaceful as you can get. Defensive tools should never be outlawed, as long as there are over-violent cops.

Depends on the type of shields you want...
