This content is user submitted and not an official statement

If you haven't yet checked out the sneak preview of our BRAND NEW mini documentary please make sure you do! The sneak preview will be up until October 27 on YouTube. The film will be officially released in January.

Click here to check it out!

After you watch it, we need your help.

Move to Amend is doing a big fundraising push to close out 2013. We need to raise $100,000 before December 31 to start off 2014 with the funds we need to take our organizing to the next level in the campaign to amend the Constitution.

One of our fundraising projects is a Grassroots House Party Campaign (https://movetoamend.org/houseparty) Our goal is to raise at least $12,500 from living room parties held across the country in November and December.

We can't think of a better way to put "Legalize Democracy" to work.

Showing this film at a party with your friends is the perfect way to give them a great introduction for why you support Move to Amend, and why they should too!

Check it out yourself -- we're hosting it for free on our YouTube channel until October 27 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDaPMU8LbIY, and then we're asking you to sign up to host a party to share it with your friends and ask them to donate to Move to Amend to help make the We the People Amendment happen.

Yours for democracy,

Ashley Sanders, Daniel Lee, David Cobb, Egberto Willies, George Friday, Jerome Scott, Kaitlin Sopoci-Belknap, Laura Bonham, Nancy Price, Richard Monje

In Compliment: Four months ago, the State Department revoked the passport of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.[1]

Snowden’s “crime” was to educate Americans and the world about the dangerous growth of the U.S. surveillance state.

Tell Secretary of State John Kerry to give Snowden back his passport.

Freedom to travel requires a passport. It’s a basic principle.[2]

Government efforts to revoke a U.S. citizen’s passport have a shameful place in U.S. history. Amid the hysteria of the McCarthy Era, in 1950 the government revoked the passport of the African American singer/actor/activist Paul Robeson -- and didn’t reinstate it for eight years.

Click here to tell Kerry to reinstate Snowden’s passport now.

Ed Snowden didn’t get the due process he deserves. In late June -- after he released documents on the NSA’s mass surveillance programs -- the State Department suddenly revoked Snowden’s passport in an effort to prevent him from reaching any country willing to grant political asylum.

The surveillance state that he exposed is spying on leaders in democratic countries[3] and collects electronic data on millions of U.S. citizens -- including, we learned thanks to Snowden, our e-mail address books and instant messaging “buddy lists.”[4]

Snowden’s moral, democratic and heroic action is increasingly honored and appreciated.[5]

To send an email now to Secretary of State Kerry, click here.

I need an entire half hour to sit in one place. I will either try to hit this when I get back tonight or first think in the morning.

@the Left Forum!!

Move to Amend is coming to New York City!

David Cobb, an attorney and organizer for the Move to Amend coalition, will be speaking at the Left Forum in New York City from May 30th - June 1st, 2014. David will be speaking on three discussion panels at the forum. Find onsite registration info here and find more info on Move to Amend panels below.

Be sure to also check out Citizen Koch, our recently announced film partner, which will be premiering in NYC on June 6th! Citizen Koch investigates the impact of unlimited, anonymous spending by corporations and billionaires on the electoral process, featuring stories of life-long Republicans whose party loyalty is tested when their families become collateral damage in the corporate-backed crusade against organized labor and the working class. Alternately terrifying and funny, Citizen Koch is an essential and powerful portrait of local politics; truly "all politics is local."
