It was never more obvious that the fantasy is still being played out in America where people think they have a choice when really there is only one choice - just the two of them up there by themselves pretending to be on different sides.
If this was a "debate" then why not let at least one independant candidate, maybe two or three, join in?
Or at least some questions about an alternative to the way things are done that challenge them both?

The The Commission on Presidential Debates - an organization created by Democrats and Republicans in 1987 - sets the ground rules for who gets to debate.
Studies have shown the effectiveness of mainstream media has on convincing people about the value of the debates, and then turning the focus onto which of the two candidates won the debate, and so the whole question of alternative candidates is obliterate
