Quite sad. Definitely, the police officer who did this should be brought to court. It's also sad that a mother to be would participate in such a dangerous protest where violence has been known to occur. It's also sad that the only thing OWS is talking about these days is police brutality. It would be cool if they stopped putting their protesters in situations which encourage violence and start talking about ways to fix the country instead.

Crap! Using your logic only Rambo should carry a sign and protest.

[-] 0 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

Not at all. I'm just saying it's important to be aware that brutality does exist at these protests. In general, occupiers have known in advance when the police was planning on coming and busting them out. It might be a good idea for Occupy to ask pregnant mothers and children to leave the protest when they know a clash is coming. Just in case. Women and children were never asked to fight on the front lines during past wars. They can certainly be of help in the background. On normal days, when all is nice and dandy, they can participate without a problem.

I'm not excusing police brutality, I'm saying be smart and get out of harm's way when you know it's coming (if you don't want to get hurt). Of course, this is a huge gain for Occupy since a martyr helps the protest. Afterall, the Egypt protests were sparked by Bouazizi burning himself alive (no pun intended).

Yeah, if you're going to exercise your first amendment rights, be sure you're in shape because you are risking assault by the forces of "law and order."

Yeah the point is you shouldn't have to be at risk for police brutality. These are the same tactics they used against the "niggers" when people still thought segregation was a good idea. Now the news and a lot of the opposition uses slurs calling people "filth" ...just look at Fox News and a lot of the GOP and the way the opposition talks about these human beings.

Racism, prejudice, and complacency, is the problem. It was then and it is now in relation to a lot of the opposition. Police brutality is becoming the issue because of the large reports of police brutality. It would have never been about police brutality if there wasn't police brutality. But there is. And a lot of it too.

You should not be at risk for police brutality. If you are breaking the law, the officers can arrest you. They can only use force if you are trying to flee, or if they are defending themselves from attack or trying to stop an attack. Carrying a sign and yelling is not a reason to think the police will attack you.

How come the right wing screw balls don't seem to understand this simple logic? You stated it very well.. Unfortunately the brain dead will never understand.

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

Use logic. Calling them brain dead is very similar to the problem of prejudice that I'm talking about. I will admit, I've been guilty of it in the past... but a wise man once said

An error only becomes a mistake if you refuse to correct it. -JFK

So when you see such talk, use logic and reason. You will never convince anyone with vinegar.

I agree with you. The problem is the police don't agree.

It's more complicated than this.

Its amazing to see someone speaking to the globalist population control. Not enough people can let themselves even think that the elite would do this to us, with other methods of course.

It is really beyond my comprehension how someone can do what he did.?But I guess that same question has been asked many times throughout history.
