Good sixth sense. I told 'Friendly' where to go the other day. This person asks questions that the ruling elite want to gauge consensus on. This person invariably ends up not being able to contain their loathing of the 'stupid useless commoners'. His/her words drip with disdain as he/she tries to steer OWS into packing it in and going home.

Please give me an example of this approach being in place.

Yes, Farmers use a cap method on their harvest. They do not sell the entire harvest. They leave enough for spring planting. They limit their profit to ensure they have next years crop.

Money creates jobs and is needed in the economy. If too much money is taken out of the economy not enough jobs will be created. A cap on profits will ensure enough money remains in the economy for job creation.

It wouldn''t. but the dems/libs /progressives just love to control free enterprise/free markets, with price controls.

And people who vote for Republicans like to control prices through monopolies and non American labor. What's your point?

Price control through monopolies and non American labor are not solely a Republican venture. Also, it is prudent to have some controls on markets. Profit caps could be a pretty slippery slope. Current methods are manipulating markets through taxation. Those can be dangerous too. Guess we need to believe in our democracy/republic to keep a good balance between the two extremes.

That is a reasonable response. It kinda irks me though that I made so little money making widgets last year that I qualified for a tax credit. wouldn't it be better for all if I got paid enough to contribute to the taxes of this nation and the consumer paid a little more for their widgets. I'm just saying.

A profit cap would increase widget sales.

Ironically, I found myself in a similar situation. For me, I received those tax credits, but turned around and handed it right back through other forms of taxation. I guess breaking even is the new wealth now a days. Pretty frustrating.

how do the people that vote republican or republicans in office for that matter , control prices?

[-] 1 points by JesseHeffran (3903) 12 years ago

I could give two shits how cheap a widget costs. I only care how much an employ gets payed for making said widget.

Lowering your costs is like a raise.

Yah, while creating slave labor.

why is it your concern how much an employee gets paid ? Free markets decide that.
