Thomas Jefferson believed that political parties would inherently strive to maintain control of any power achieved and that this ambition would render them hopelessly partisan, authoritarian and unworkable, making compromise impossible. Does this sound vaguely familiar?

The Jefferson Tree is a bi-partisan blog seeking to combine extreme views into workable solutions.

The Jefferson Tree name was chosen to represent the Tree of Liberty about which Thomas Jefferson frequently spoke. The roots of that tree embody the populace, the branches our government and the leaves those officials elected to represent the ideals, hopes and beliefs of the people.

Our intention is to provide the views and ideology from all concerned, regardless of political affiliation.

By joining The Jefferson Tree and sharing your thoughts as a contributor, you will assist in keeping this country and that great Tree of Liberty healthy and strong.
