All cops are pigs because to become a cop you have to be a pig in the first place.
Our enemy is Mayor Bloomberg, not the police. The police are just doing what they are told to do.
You have nice police friends in US. Did you look at the video. There was no violence and the cop suddenly started hitting a girl with his stick in an attempt to break her ribs. That was a pretty young and defenseless girl you know. Perhaps your friends could find a better way to do their job.
If cops never use their own judgment, perhaps they should be replaced with robots.

Its not true that all cops are pigs. Some people become cops because they truly want to help out. Saying all cops are pigs is like saying all of the OWS movement is composed of hippies without jobs
It's obviously a logical fallacy, but since I can't hit cops that hit defenseless girls, I use logical fallacies against cops. They can defend themselves by stabbing my ribs with their batons.
Unfortunately, you're right that they have more privileges when it comes to those situations. I just find it frustrating that we lump everyone into the same category. Not every single cop would stab you with their baton or hit defenseless girls. One of the qualms I have with people who dislike the occupy movement is that they lump us all into one category. If we want to overcome part of the problem with this nation, we can't continue to lump people together.
I'll stop generalizing when I see some cops asking for forgiveness.
In Occupy Oakland, protesters openly denounced the black bloc and their violent tactics and reiterated that their movement is a peaceful one. They created a thread on this forum asking for advice on how to solve the issue, on how to deal with the black bloc. They have talked about the problem in the media, to the cops, and to the mayor. They are dealing with their bad apples.
When cops do the same, when a whole precinct goes on TV and openly denounces cops who commit gratuitous violence upon defenseless citizens, then I'll stop using generalizations against cops. Until then, until cops turn in their own bad apples, I consider that they are all pigs.

I agree with you what the police did in that case is wrong, it should be investigated and the policemen who did that should be severely punished. But ultimately to incite people to fight against the police does not advance the cause. Sure it feels good to release anger, but the anger is better directed to to the source of the problem, and the problem is Mayor Bloomberg. The buck stops with him. He is responsible.
