I have started a petition to be addressed to the President and the entire Congress of the United States, to step aside and be replaced by special election because of their lack of leadership, and the loss of confidence in their ability to govern in the best interests of all Americans. I think it time to reset this gov't so that we can move forward in making the tough decisions that will impact us all. The influence of the lobbyists, the secrecy of inner workings, the decisions based on vote getting rather than what's in our best interests rather than theirs has brought us to the brink, and I feel we need a new direction.

If we keep on doing what we're doing, we're just going to keep getting what we've gotten, and to be honest, it isn't much. It doesn't matter if we elect a Democrat or a Republican or an Independent. All that matters is that we got their attention, and that a new Congress, in particular, will at least allow us to start afresh.

Thank you very much, and I hope that you'll support this. Just copy and past the link to your browser and sign the on-line petition. Mark

Very good idea. We have a dictatorship here in the USA and your idea is the right one. I would actually go,by the thousands, and occupy the U.S. Congress and give those 535 skunks 48 hours to get out of town and get lost.

Unless we remove these tyrants there will be no room for total change. We have to also organize our own political party (Global Revolution Party ?) and run our own people for all the position of local and federal offices. I

The only way to get them out is to force them out with the constitution, but the courts now claim that congress can veto the constitution on a case by case basis

Target WallSt, not your political system. Your political system is able to sanitize itself.

Any non-violent action that increases awareness of the present problems is worth following. Petition also your fellow citizens to vote the entire Congress out of office at the first opportunity, and replace them with non-party independents. Use your votes on each election cycle to limit the service of each incumbent to one term. Yes, do this for the President as well. OWS is having an effect. The value of open protest is to let others know that they are not alone (we are a social animal and tend to act as others act). Other Americans will soon come to realize that the most effective non-violent protest is the election of new representatives.
