Paul Craig Roberts» Cynthia McKinney On Leadership

October 2, 2012

Excerpts;

"We have an increasingly authoritarian structure that countenances no dissent. The only thing is that we, the people, don't know who really operates the structures. The ones we elect to represent us provide no leadership and tell us no truths. Their names appear on the ballot, but they are not the ones in charge calling the shots. Everything has become a joke that is not even funny. The repercussions for those of us who try and inject love, vision, compassion and common sense into the political discourse are quickly discredited, chewed up, and expectorated. Only those with the biggest hearts will take this path. Now, why are people like me cast aside? Because we know that we can win this titanic struggle. We know that the people can overcome this tyranny. We know that the true power lies with the people and that we are the majority. That's why the others have to work so hard with their propaganda, psychological operations, disinformation, and mind control tactics. Heaven forbid if the people would actually turn off the television and think. There would be a revolution tomorrow. And the rest of the world could finally live in peace and Mother Earth could reclaim her dignity. All of that depends on the voters of the United States to accept their responsibility to change the policies in Washington, DC, that are killing hope here and killing people abroad."

"The military might of the US is being used to benefit a very small group of men and women who have the rest of humankind hoodwinked as to the true nature of what is going on. The rest of humankind can't imagine that amount of greed and willingness to kill and so, are easily fooled and tricked by the individuals who control the new system that is being created. It is, sadly, a case of "willful blindness."

Important Article. Love Paul Craig Roberts. Here is a senario:

Say you are holding on to a corporate position for the money & Healthcare eventhough you don't feel good about what you are doing, feel unfulfilled, and have a dislike for Managment. The Leadership at the Corporation seems militant and overly focued on success at all cost...

The Article Talks about Leadership. The guy who is your Big Boss might be a leader, but be a sociopath... or just a heartless man/woman that cares about nothing but HIS Career and His Office's GOALs.

Who Does the Leader Serve?...Only Career, Campaign, or Mission Goals, or something larger like the Public, Civil RIghts, Human Rights.

Are Leadership Objectives and Goals written in a Long Term Strategy that is Transparent and Clear that Ethics and Civil Rights/Individual Rights will ALWAYS Come First???

[-] 2 points by Renneye (3874) 11 years ago

Rarely...if ever any more, with the etching away of capitalist regulations, corporations have enjoyed a 'free for all', "Roman Empire" like feast, with seemingly no consideration for a single soul but themselves. What's even more insane, is how they have perverted their mindset entirely...with no thought to consequences, in that they have contributed to their own demise. For while they blindly deliciated over their new found riches...they abjectively made it impossible for themselves to walk among us. When the majority of the masses 'suddenly' wake up...there will be a lot of angry people.

When it comes to government, It is even worse. The Constitution and Bill of Rights are hanging by a thread...which seemingly gives the globalist ruling elite and government 'carte blanche' to do whatever they want. It seems the government is rife with maybe 'once' well meaning people who have compromised their own ethics.

If one listens to Cynthia McKinney's explanation, it is easy to see how this can happen. Given the benefit of the doubt, there may be many within government who have little way of changing the status quo, but would like to. When corruption is this bad...it most certainly didn't get this way by doing things above board, but rather by underhanded deeds. I would think that many politicians' good intentions are held hostage by extortion, bribes and threats of various degree. Like you say, people with leadership qualities have a tendency towards being sociopaths.

The sympathy lies with the people who suffer the most....the 99%. The ones who work in these horrible conditions because they need their jobs and healthcare. The ones that come to mind are the people working in the military, NSA and TSA...but there are many more. There are terrible stories of employee abuse coming out of these places. I know some people are sick minded and enjoy the job...but not the vast majority.

It is easy also, to see how regimes and people like Hitler came to have such vast work forces. They had a massive grid of poor people who did the tyrants' bidding...not because they wanted to work for people like Hitler, but because they needed to feed and clothe their children.

Asked during the war, of people who worked in the ammunitions factories, police forces, etc., "Why are you working for Hitler?" They replied, "I'm just doing my job." Sound familiar?

I have heard this same response from police officers today.

If you were penniless, had hungry kids, and didn't know if you were going to have a roof over your heads next week...what would you do if you were offered a decent paying job at a factory that made bullets for war or tanks? Would you take the job? Picture it now. Its wartime, not a single solitary job elsewhere and your kids are crying because they're starving. Would you take the job? This is what the tyrants want. A poor and desperate population in crisis during wartime.

Lets wake up enough people...pronto...and scare the $hit out of the oligarchs....so that more people don't ever have to be put in this position. Getting information into the hands of enough numbers of people is our biggest tool, and the oligarchs worst nightmare. Start talking to people.

Yes, Leaderhip has so many pieces and circumstances.

Of course I would work for the Military or even the TSA if it seemed the only source of money. You're Right there are still many lessons to see from looking at Nazi Germany and the Roman Empire.

I would add some thing more personal to myself about myself. I have been sort of close to being a leader or a position which could have turned into something. I suppose in many ways my own baggage got in the way and I have some problems with authority figures. But wanted to say something about the 1) Push-Pull of other players in the power structure to put you down, make you prove yourself, count you out, work around you, plan to sabotage you, conspire to give you a bad reputation, dig into your history and reputation to leverage it against you 2) Push- Pull of other Players to force you and convince you to be a follower, play the game, listen to older power structure, don't make waves, keep your mouth shut unless the existing powers tell you what to say, to make sure you want to be in the network and fear being outside of the network.

I guess Cynthia McKinney is talking about #2.

[-] 2 points by Renneye (3874) 11 years ago

Hmmmm....'close to being a leader'! I'm all intrigued now! Lol!

I dare say, your intuitive consciousness of your 1 and 2 scenarios is what kept you from getting yourself into a position you likely would not have been content with.

What I liked the most about Cynthia McKinney's interview...is that she so openly talks about the 'controllers' above the government. She speaks about a small group of men and women who really make the decisions. That our supposed leaders really don't have that much power. This admission, I find most refreshing.

I think, that as the political public servants see or perceive that we're getting closer to what may be the 'unthinkable', some of them may be willing to risk loss, in order to stand up for what is right. At least that's what I hope.

[-] 2 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

To clarify, I was never invited to join any network. I got a position where I was basically going to sink or swim. I was an outsider in a position as a kind of representative, and the industry or organizations would either accept me or not. So maybe #2 doesn't really apply to me as much as my previous post might lead you to believe.

I think my senario is more likely for most of us in this modern world.

But, YES, I think there are Wealthy Powerful People that control our government and are in fact higher than our government. What we know about money's influence is consistant with this.

[-] 2 points by Renneye (3874) 11 years ago

For the most part, over these months, many people feel that getting money out of government is the first thing we should do. Of course it is a must...but I think that the process of getting money out of government is a very long process and I feel there is a more expedient way to 'get the ball rolling' so to speak. Here is what I posted to someone earlier today. What do you think our first step should be?

"The 'ruling elite oligarchs' are the money in politics...and they are in complete control of the laws/lawmakers and policies that we would need access to, to create the 'process' you mention. Therefore, shining the proverbial floodlights on the ruling elite themselves would be a much quicker way to get where we need to go, in order for us to create the process of getting money out of politics.

The biggest fear the oligarchs have is that the masses should find out WHO the people behind the curtain are. The very reason society goes through this every so many years IS because the oligarchs have been able to keep themselves, and even more so...their deep involvement, hidden and out of the media for decades (perhaps centuries).

Throughout history, people make some inroads to change with protest and hitting the issues...BUT...the oligarchs are STILL THERE afterwards. The ruling elite just lay low until the populace settles again, and then...whammo! 'They' do it to us again! Why?? Because we treated the (dis)ease symptomatically..instead of treating our world preventatively, by not allowing those cancerous elite people of the world who have no other motive but 'complete control', 'take root' within our institutions and systems.

I've heard a few references to the 'small group of people' who are above government and beyond law recently, even whispers of it in the MSM. So it should come as no shock that, now, of all times, is when the globalist oligarchs want total control of the internet. The ruling elite are 'terrified' that their 'shadow government' is being found out. The internet is their worst enemy.

I say shine the lights on the oligarchs personally, and we will start to get somewhere. They're quite happy having us talk in the merry-go-rounds, circles, and spirals of dem/rep paradigm...and seemingly, most people here are only too happy to oblige.

Lets break free from the 'junk food' talking points that 'they' serve us on a prettied up platter, and focus all our attention on the actual people who are serving it to us.

So, lets all quit the incessant globalist elite induced brabbling, shall we...and give them what they DON'T want."

[-] 2 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

A couple of thoughts:

I'm thinking the Oligarchs or Puppet Masters behind the Government are so rich they can roll with the times and don't need government money. They see their Taxes in the Millions or Hundereds of Millions and they care to keep Tax Loopholes, Tax Credits, and Subsidies. But not sure what susidies (funds) they get. A Public-Private Partnership to build a parking lot, casino, ball park, golf course, national park, museum, building, toll road, bridge, etc. If they can Privatize a Port, Toll Road, Air Port, Transportation System, building, Army, Etc... then they get free stuff.

Sort of thinking many businessmen don'tmind competing for government funding or Loans since they have to survive against others doing it. Oligarchs? If I think of George Soros, Rupert Murdoch, Ted Turner, Warren Buffet, Forbes, Trump (does he qualify?) Koch Brothers of Fred Koch Dynasty, Rockefeller Dynasty, Ford Family Dynasty, Carnegie Dynasty, Jeckyll Island families: Frank Vanderlip, Henry P. Davison, Charles D. Norton, Benjamin Strong, and Paul Warburg, Big European banking Families: Rothschild, Oppenheim family, Johann Heinrich Schröder (John Henry, of Schroder Family), Big Banking Families: The Pujo Report singled out individual bankers including Paul Warburg, Jacob H. Schiff, Felix M. Warburg, Frank E. Peabody, William Rockefeller and Benjamin Strong, Jr..

There are probably a lot of Oil Men that got rich and we don't know who they are. We could Reserach well known oil companies and see who started them. Shell is owned by Dutch Queen (Royal Dutch Shell). You can look up the Big Banks that were the US Money Trust and see what families started them too. Must have been big names in the rail Road Business like on the Monopoly board. Sachs Fifth Avenue. Big gold and jewelery families like Rhodes, De Beurs, etc. Dont forget the Carlisle Group, Saudi Kingdom, any big US Ally for Defense, former European Leaders maybe?

I guess you have a big point there. Clearly the Big guys don't want to be known since exposure in the Pujo Committe Report in 12 January 1913.

We seldom see the Names of the Big Puppet Masters or know who they are. But there is little financial Trail for us to follow and it is hard to find a place to start looking at their financial connections.

O my!! Those links just blew me away! As well as your informative commentary. Me thinks you've been at this for a while! Lol!

The newspaper article from 1913 confirms what I mentioned earlier...in that 'they' were afraid of being found out. They did NOT like the attention they were getting AT ALL. Being named IS their biggest fear.

Ok Middleaged....I'm curious what you would do as a next step. For arguments sake...lets say we are clear about who the corporate, criminal elite, scumbag oligarch, parasite slugs that spawn, are (sorry...just had to get that out). So we have our list in hand. How would we co-ordinate with OWS to get the names of these (ahem) people, out there. It has to be inexpensive, and could be simpler than we think. It doesn't have to be a massive change in policy, or a long drawn out 'getting the money out of politics', etc. Those things need to be done of course, but we can vote on these things after the oligarchs have been exposed and kicked out. Think about how quick Iceland got the bankers out. They identified them, and gave them the boot.

If you had sole decision making power, how would you go about naming these people to the unaware masses?

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

So let me consider the premiss.

A) That naming Oligarches/Patriarchs will have a strong effect.
B) That some action coordinated with Naming Oligarches will be able to drive them out of Politics, Economics, Fraud, and or the Physical Boundries of the USA.
C) That it is possible to drive Rogue bankers, Criminogenic Elements, Privateers, Economic Pirates, Accounting Control Frauds, or "Dirty" US Oligarches OUT of the USA.

One Voice that can help here is William K. Black. He seems to be one of the "Cooler Heads" giving voice to the Crisis in the US Criminogenic Enviroment.

I have heard Bill Black say that you can't stop Crime, but you can pass laws, regulations, enact enforcement and implement procedures to reduce and discourage Crime (paraphrasing very liberally with my own view).

But that doesn' address your question or give you an answer.

I believe you have a bad premiss. I don't think you can say or do anything to Drive "Dirty Oligarches" out of the US. I don't even think Higher Taxes would drive them out.

Publicity and pressure did seem to drive Rupert Murdoch out of the Newspaper busines in the UK, though. However, he is old, has younger protoges or offspring, and didn't lose much.

Bill Black is one person who you can follow, who is active in OWS, who has the experience, who has the expertise, and who can tell the story of the corruption of the USA.

I'm trying to remember what his suggestions are.

1) Push for a return to Law in the USA.
2) Recognize the Criminogenic Environment in which businesses operate in which High Risk, High Leverage, and high Incentives and Compensation Exist.
3) Push for Sound Pension Funds which don't invest in the Shadow banking, Private Equity, High Risk, Wall street World.
4) Never allow your Social Security to be Privatized.
5) Demand that Public Pension Funds be scrutinized constantly, that they be transparent, that they be fully funded, that all problems be aired publically, and that workers not be fooled into thinking that their Retirement and Pension Funds are Conservative or Low Risk when they are part of some Financial Scheme.
6) Help Public Employees understand the Risks that their Retirement contains. These are the most transparent, most regulated, most public, and most easy to push into Media, into Internet Blogs, etc.
7) Search for Zombie Pension Funds (those invested in Zombie Private Equity Funds which are no longer providing a return to Investors). I think Zombie Funds can be leveraged into the Media and made into a Big Scandal (see New York times Story this Year).
8) Expose Municipal and State Deals with Big New York Banks (Wall Street). These big deals will reflect one thing. The huge exposure and Investment that cost Taxpayers over decades and all the dollars Spent. (Recently a California School got something like $10-15 Million dollars & Will have to pay back $100 M in payments starting in 20 years).
9) Remember that Alabama County that went bancrupt because of a Sewer or Water deal with a New York Bank. This is probably typical for School Districts, Counties, and Municpalities ...They are not Financially Sophisticated. They are getting Taken Advantage of. The bank always wins. The message we need to put out is all "Financial Schemes" carry risk, will cost Taxpayers Money, and probably the bank is winning more than you can guess.
10) Remember the IMF, World Bank, and these International Rescue packages? They are all Financial Schemes which serve to manipulate people in foreign countries and draw money out of the people. If it was a Resuce Package, it would be a Grant (Gift) not a Loan (with interest payments).
11) We all have to publish Global Financial Schemes in a way that gets people to recognize that they are just using a credit card with a very high Cost. And sometime like with Libor Scandal you don't even image the system itself is rigged.
12) The goal would be to have a hard nosed person in every meeting with Big bankers Representing the taxpayer - Carping, Criticizing, denigrating, bad mouthing, digging into every detail of every new deal. True business deals are only fair - if there is a big fight in negotiation. (and the bank is still going to do well every time).
13) How do we Train young business people and young students to protect and avoid financial schemes. How do we train empoyees to negotiate strongly and be critical of any plan for financing. Demand your City, County, State, School District put in place a Program to Get Smart on Finance, Avoid Big banks, Avoid Financial Schemes, be critical of all Deals, Etc.

My goodness, you're thorough! I've listened to one audio, and one video of Bill Black so far. I'm still not sure I agree with you though. I just hate disagreeing...lol! I'm gonna think on it, and get back to you on this.

Bill Black Audio in Europe: I think it is good overview, he talks about the criminogenic enviroment, Greshems Dynamic, and the whole conspiracy http://www.kpfa.org/archive/id/79331 If you heard that one the Bill Moyers Journal Video is good. If you have seen that... His current ones tell how Eric Holder should Resign, Fast & Furious, Differed Prosecutions, and he has an article about how Obama has a man Crush on Geithner.

Late addition: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article32175.htm Here he states that he got over 1000 Felony Convictions out of 3000 prosecutions and had a 90% conviction Rate in the S & L Crisis.

He faced down the Keating 5 and convicted Keating in the Lincholn Savings & Loan Fraud. Charles Keating Spent 5 Years in Prison.

http://topics.nytimes.com/topics/reference/timestopics/people/k/charles_h_keating_jr/index.html

..."Judge Stanley Sporkin, who ruled in one civil suit, wrote: "Bluntly speaking, their actions amounted to a looting of Lincoln. This was not done crudely. Indeed, it was done with a great deal of sophistication."....

..."Prosecutors painted him in a starker light, and focused on the sale of $250 million worth of bonds, which later defaulted, to his own depositors, many of whom thought they were guaranteed by the government. One sales document introduced in his civil trial exhorted salesmen with these words: "And always remember the weak, meek and ignorant are always good targets."....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savings_and_loan_crisis

Bill Black helped set up the Resolution Trust Corporation to handle bancrupt banks and dispose of their assets. .."5.The Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) was established to dispose of failed thrift institutions taken over by regulators after January 1, 1989. The RTC will make insured deposits at those institutions available to their customers."...

The US could have used the RTC to handle this Financial Crisis and close out the bad banks.

So Congress (or the mafia) told Obama to Hire Geithner the Failed NY Federal Reserve Director (a Republican), so that they would keep deregulators and keep avoiding any prosecutions.

De-Regulation, Defacto De-criminalization, De-supervison, = Criminogenic Environment.

He Names Names. He says abject Failures were Hired to perform as :

A) Mary Shipiro B) Tim Geithner C) Ben Bernanke (the only one with statutury authority to prevent the D) Financial Crisis by changing the regulations) Alan Greenspan (again was asked to regulate and had the power to change the laws and regulations but refused)

Welcome to the Banana Republic of the USA. Banana States of America.

Did anyone else see the Video about US Tax Exempt Foundations and their influence with all of their Big Money??? Essentially it comes down to a young woman who got involved in documenting what these Foundations were doing and what their Long Range Strategic Plans revealed. In the end the young woman had her life ruined...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLVnzV0Vk94 (Part one of Six)
G. Edward Griffin is a Film Maker, Historian and possible conspiracy Theorist.

Anyway there was a big Congressional Inquiry like in 1952 about Foundations. Seems like in the end - It was a Power Struggle against the investigators by Congress and the Foundations. Sounds like a good Case Study if you are interested in Government Leadership, The Invisible Hand of puppet masters, Project management in the Government, Etc.

Most of the Documentary is an Interview with Norman Dodd, New York Banker, Director of Research for the Reece Committee in 1953, interviewed in 1982 or so. The Reece Committee 1952-54 is what the investigation was called.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_Select_Committee_to_Investigate_Tax-Exempt_Foundations_and_Comparable_Organizations

The Select Committee to Investigate Tax-Exempt Foundations and Comparable Organizations was an investigative committee of the United States House of Representatives between 1952 and 1954.[1] The committee was originally created by House Resolution 561 during the 82nd Congress. The committee investigated the use of funds by tax-exempt organizations (non-profit organizations) to see if they were being used to support communism.[2][3] The committee was alternatively known as the Cox Committee and the Reece Committee after its two chairmen, Edward E. Cox and B. Carroll Reece.

It is about 7 minutes into part 2 that Norman starts talking about the Reece Committee here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7nsa4MucXc&feature=relmfu

HOLY MACK!! About 6 weeks ago I watched the first two parts of this series. I got side-tracked and didn't get back to it. Thanks Middleaged, for the reminder! I will listen to the rest of this series tomorrow morning.

I didn't know about the back story of this series. How very interesting. How sad too, that good intentioned and brave people like this young woman had her life ruined. Frankly, I'm shocked that google/youtube hasn't done away with this series.

I have to say that what I heard so far was unbelievably disturbing...yet interesting. It is a quality corroboration of what Cynthia McKinney speaks about in her interview with Paul Craig Roberts.

This is life altering information and should be required education for every ows member, who should then teach it to their families. If we don't intervene in this tragic oligarch agenda...quite frankly...we're lost. Our freedom will be gone forever.

Thanks so much for this valuable information/videos Middleaged. Also for the written details you have provided here. I appreciate it very much. I will re-post this series in various places on the forum in the coming days.

Thanks. Yeah, there is a part where he says the bank big wigs say the US will never return to sound banking practices (and the interview was in 1982).

Thanks. So I saved you links to my favorites. I remember the first one, but like the style of the 2nd one. Blues are good. I've never learned a style. Seems like I might have picked up some of the style of Micheal Hedges.

I actually have an acoustic guitar and an electric one. I don't play much these days. I always just played alone and mostly improvised. I tuned up last week and decided that I should make the effort to learn to use light gauge strings on the acoustic. Last month I picked up a used guitar in a pawn shop and just started playing like it was my guitar. I think it had light gauge strings... might have been a good guitar though $220 with electric pickups.
