"For many people, kicking their political habit may turn out to be one of the most difficult things they will do over the course of their civic lives. Partisan political affiliation is, for many, the defining characteristic of who they are as citizens. Partisanship is, of course, a normal part of our everyday political lives. Party membership can offer the individual a productive outlet for civic energies and provide a sense of cohesion and belonging in a welcoming social group. However, partisan political engagement can become destructive of these valuable civic and social ends.

When individuals persist in such behavior despite ongoing and compounding negative consequences, their engagement has become a form of dependency, their activism a form of compulsion. The twelve step program of partisans anonymous may help some find their way on the road to political independence."

You may react with utter disbelief, but in fact I do not consider myself a partisan. I do not belong to any party.

What I see are two distinct ways one party has deliberately engaged in behavior we can prove has been - or will be - destructive of the economy and American way of life, and the results are not entirely clear as of yet.

One begins with the systematic effort to pollute or to infect our higher institutions of learning with proponents of neoliberal economic philosophy while at the same time inserting lawyers with a similar mind set onto the Supreme Court.

The second revolves around Global Warming - which it should be noted, produces Climate Change - two different, but related, terms. One is actually causing the other.

The fuckers lie and they Iie and they lie . . . they are very very consistent about it. These lies are not universal among party members - but those who disagree are so few in number as to be remarkable for their divergence of opinion.

I see a party that is ripe with decay, and ready to collapse in on itself. All that is required is a gentle push from the public, and the repelican party will be no more than a faint shadow of what it is today.

Just a gentle push.

I think you are one of the few on here who are acting out of conscience, even tho I don't agree with you.
