A few people have plugged some good books on this site. Most of them reveal the problems, but here is one that offers a solution - Parecon: Life After Capitalism by Michael Albert. It's the best solution to capitalism that I've ever heard.
The biggest mistake some people make about a capitalistic system is that there should be abs. no regulation. In order for capitalism to work, there needs to be a balance between to much reg, and not enough.
I am not anti-capitalist. It is just a system that exploits a natural human behavior - self interest. It has been successful for many years - when the greed was legally held in check. ( thank you TR ) The non-regulations purchased by the rich is what brought us down.
I totally agree with you on the later part of what you said, though i am an anti-capitalist at heart. I really hope OWS can move toward a concise focus directed at the root of so many 99%'s grievances - money in politics. I'm advocating the single demand of prohibiting private spending on public campaigns. I think this issue will have the most wide reaching impact, gain the broadest support, and will allow the 99% to participate meaningfully as both candidates and voters. Right now I can only think of two ways to get there www.lobbydemocracy.com and www.getmoneyout.com I just remember this book offering the best solution to capitalism that I've heard yet...
but you fail to link us. Why am i always running around picking up the mess after everyone? sigh.
anarchism is a stupid, infantile con scam, in which the corporate oligarchs feed the rebels without a clue exactly the ideology needed to USE the useful idiots as black pawns in their ideology chess game.
here is another link and I'm not sure what that last sentence is about... http://www.zcommunications.org/topics/parecon
parecon is an anarchists eden. in other words. an insane dystopia.
not enough solid solutions, not enough science, not enough address to the real complexity.
Most people have asked the question: "if we eliminate Capitalism, what then? What is the solution?" Would you like to write a full length article about this? Please email me at OccupyUnveiled@live.com | #OccupyUnveiled is an independent news source regarding OWS and its affiliates. Neither for nor against OWS, we seek truth where ever it may lead us.
I can try, but I also work so it may be a few days...google it and there are a bunch of things written about it and I'm sure they wouldn't mind you using their verbage. http://www.zcommunications.org/topics/parecon
No worries, take all the time you need. Thanks for the link!
