Posted 11 years ago on Dec. 25, 2012, 7:33 a.m. EST by thegreatsquare (16)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

You wouldn't want your kid going to house with a sex offender, now you can know who has a gun to keep them away from those houses too.

AND BEFORE ANYONE SCREAMS "PRIVACY", THIS IS PUBLICLY AVAILABLE INFO.

All I have to say is "More Please!!"

Who said anything about disarming everyone?

To start: -Background checks without exception -Include mental healthcheck and follow ups. -10 round clips max

The Nazis hated gun ownership also, Nazi."

I agree,are you Joseph Goebbels???

[-] 0 points by thegreatsquare (16) 11 years ago

They also hated gays and jews and gypsies... but I wouldn't show such idiocy so freely as you to post claims that your hatred of the Nazis meant you were one of these groups.

[-] -2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

And you are just as psychotic.

[-] 1 points by nomdeguerre (1775) from Brooklyn, NY 11 years ago

Get lost, troll.

[-] -2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

The only troll here is you. Guess what time it is? It's time to play kick the nomdeguerre.

[-] 0 points by nomdeguerre (1775) from Brooklyn, NY 11 years ago

I haven't seen you around for a while. I thought maybe you had gone to Gaza to kill women and babies or to the settlements to bulldoze Palestinian homes or were taking part in that freak weirdo Justice (sic) Scalia's orgies.

[-] -1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Yeah, I thought mayhap your little paranoid psychotic breaks with reality had led to you being locked up.

[-] 1 points by nomdeguerre (1775) from Brooklyn, NY 11 years ago

I guess that you can't get over my recognizing you for the evil one you are.

[-] -1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

What happened there, sugar? Was it something that I said?

[-] -2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Yep. Keep it up little Drama Queen. You provide hours of entertainment. ;D

[-] 1 points by Theeighthpieceuv8 (-32) from Seven Sisters, Wales 11 years ago

All any of this does, no offense, is ramp up demand for defense weapons. And the Fed is loving it because it means more tax dollars for them.

[-] 1 points by Theeighthpieceuv8 (-32) from Seven Sisters, Wales 11 years ago

Wait a minute... anyone whose name appears on that list is a law abiding non-felonious individual, you want to equate them with rapists, pedophiles, sexual abusers ?

And it's way too f*cking weird for me because I have never heard of a single household that is not armed - everyone - everyone - I know is armed.

[-] 0 points by thegreatsquare (16) 11 years ago

No, I want to equate risks and the measures taken to mitigate that risk.

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 11 years ago

You really going to keep the list on you or memorize which people and places have what?

From a parent's perspective is it that hard to ask your kid's friend's parents if they have guns in their house before your child goes there?

Sorry but this does nothing but invade people's privacy.

Dammit I told myself I wasn't going to comment on these gun posts. Look what you made me do.

I'm sure you mean well, but I disagree.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

And the point of this was........????

Trying to make a connection between a sex offender and a gun owner is the most jacked up shit that I have read in a long time.

[-] 2 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Ya, it sure is.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Either very naive or intentionally fraudulent.

[-] -1 points by outlawtumor (-162) 11 years ago

You make a very smart and valid point. Glad to see that you agree this kind of bullshit is going way too far now.

[-] -2 points by thegreatsquare (16) 11 years ago

Don't demagogue this, the analogy is valid as [1] any risk to a child is the parent's natural concern and [2] the availability of lists on each is as equally useful to the parent who'd wish to use the information. That you don't like the association on a particular quality does not invalidate the connection on other points.

Your displeasure over that doesn't make the analogy wrong and if you just don't like the analogy, if you find it distasteful, good ...I didn't want you to like it. Maybe I even wanted it to sting a bit, ...and maybe I wished it could hurt like a bullet-ridden 1st grader.

[-] -1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Great. You are going to love this.

Remember when the Tea Party group listed teachers names in the paper as political terrorism? You just slid right over. Congratulations. Your attempt to equate sexual offenders and gun owners is just as fucking Nazi as it gets.

[-] -3 points by thegreatsquare (16) 11 years ago

I've been here about a month, I wasn't involved with that ...whatever and whenever it was. Unless there was some context involved that would attached that list of teachers to something more insidious, I personally can't see a political terrorism aspect to what you describe.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

It was nation wide news, it wasn't necessary for you to be a member here. Publishing the teachers names for voting records etc., was political terrorism. Further, you are old enough to recognize attempts to dehumanize any group of people. This is precisely what you are doing and you know it.

[-] -2 points by town (-374) 11 years ago

card check is political terrorism ( intimidation).

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

So is every single HR department out there as well as contracts by lawyers and for lawyers, made to screw the workers.

In fact they are much, much more intimidating than anything you've ever mentioned.

Take your anti-union crap back to hell, as it has NO place among the living.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Quit your cryin'. Your consistent refusal and denial to confront the issues head on leads to shit like this.

[-] -2 points by thegreatsquare (16) 11 years ago

Nope.

I'll tell you what. If you can think of another group of people for which parents may wish to know the name and address of so that they could guard the risks they may impose on their children, and for which the public information is legally and readily available to be put in list form, then I'll edit.

I say this because if you want to give me a more palatable version of my argument, I'll take an argument that is more acceptable on face value.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Yep.

Not interested in if you edit it or not. You have no justification for it. In fact, you play right into the NRA's hands. Nice job. Not to mention that you have minimized sexual offenders offenses whether you realize it or not. Nice job, again.

But, ya, looking for a group of people? Let's try names and addresses of those people that have illegally acquired guns or gangbangers or those dealers that operate under the table or those people who acquire the guns legitimately and then turn around sell them to people that can't acquire them legitimately. The assault weapon ban does not mean singling out a group of people and dehumanizing them.

[-] -2 points by thegreatsquare (16) 11 years ago

Every issue but the guns, typical.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Come on, now. You can do it.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Typical of what?

[-] -2 points by thegreatsquare (16) 11 years ago

Typical of an unfettered gun supporter to grasp any peripheral issue to exonerate guns.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

It isn't about exonerating guns, sweet pea. Closing loopholes, bringing back the Assault Weapon Ban, addressing the limitations and loopholes in the Tiahrt Amendment are the focus. Attempts to ostracize and dehumanize gun owners is not.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

lol. Merry Christmas back at you.

[-] 0 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

There is no acceptable argument for what you are proposing, because while your intentions are good, it will be perverted by the power structure like it always is.
