I love sly sarcasm so fine it can hardly be detected, don't you? You do realize I mean that it would be a good thing for Obama to have Paul soak up third party votes that would otherwise go to Romney. Just joshing with you. Good luck with your Paul fantasies.

It's only a fantasy if everyone has that the same attitude about it. It becomes real when people look at their options and select which ever one the best opportunity at least somewhat satisfy. Not to be casual in saying that but there is a process. And rather him then a continuation of the same old same old.

Ron Paul wants to revolt just as much as the 99% common man. He is the closest thing to a current presidential representation of the 99%. And by selecting the same after he finishes his term in office we can insure the future of America. Someone elected by the 99% for the 99% ( by the people for the people ).For it is our duty as citizens to be reluctant to a tyrannical government which only represents the one percent.

Ron Paul's major financial backer builds espianage equipment for the CIA. As a real liberatarian he has no remaining credibility at all, so I really hope he runs as a third party candidate.

depends on his platform

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

But therein lies the fantasy. Not everyone shares, or ever will share, your attitude about Paul and if you sincerely believe you are going to convince people on this left leaning forum to shift to his right leaning flanks, well, I applaud your wishful thinking. The truth is that Paul is pretty far away from representing the interests of the 99, certainly closer than Romney, but still many libertarian light years away.

But just looking at the provided options of folks running for the presidency is he not the closest to the 99%'s attitude? I mean there are millions of people in the united states I understand that not everyone has the same opinion and that is what makes this country such a great place.

But I must say at this point in time moving forward I think he can best represent the 99%. And to have the 99% compromise might be impossible but there is a need to find what everyone's common grounds are and use those as a reference for what a proper candidate would look like, in order for the majority of us to move on with our lives.

I think we can all agree what is taking place right now is insanity and that we need to find what the 99%'s common grounds are in order to form a united stand against this 1% tyranny.

But this, but that, but what fantasy does possess you? What part of libertarian light years away did you not understand? Ron Paul is from another galaxy where Austrian Economics rule. I would say with conviction that Ron Paul is not even in the same Milky Way as most of the country with his stringent economic views. He is the poster boy for an every man, woman, and child for themselves social-darwinism world. In other words, he more accurately reflects the political and economical views of the 1 percent. Gee, I wonder why he hangs with the republicans?

This is more of a would you rather statement. Would you rather have Ron Paul or the other potential runners up representing you if you vote at all in this election.

Paul wants to audit the fed and stop inflation. Stop giving tons of money over seas when we need it here. And stop declaring wars when there is no proper deceleration of war. If he was in office earlier this war would have never started and we wouldn't be trillions in debit.

I was raised Democrat and I will take Paul at his word until he provides factual public reason for me not to. At which point I will exercise my right to vote/protest for impeachment.

I see him providing the most benefits out of all the runners up at this point and at this point I must agree to disagree. Because you have a right to your opinion and I cannot convince otherwise so why cause argument and bad feelings when we could keep this on the topic which is more then just your opinion of who the 99%'s( anyone and everyone else's) best hope is at this point.

I thought I made it clear through my succinct sarcasm that Obama would be my choice as the best candidate to elect, or should I say reelect, for he will best represent our broken down democracy, that thinly veiled thing from which behind operates the sinister 1 percent who rob all of us. I, of course, will not indulge in any fantastical notions and try to convince you that Obama would be a better choice for you than Ron Paul. That would be like climbing a tree with no apples in it and a complete waste of both of our time. Do you see how realistic I can be? That realism leads me to understand the 'real' world around me and see the world for what it really is. I know trying to convince you that you're an idiot to back RP would be foolish, So I won't. I encourage you to live out your Paul fantasies. Have at it, hoss!

Sorry Obama has not really worked out for us in the past 3 years. We still have troops in the middle east. We still have gitmo. We still have special interests playing politics. Not much has changed. Just a different suit for a different party. So to your point, people like Obama because he is a good Orator but other than that, not much going on. The OWS backs no candidate and Obama is much of the problem.

As I told someone else earlier, the whole vote debate about which is a lesser evil is a sucker's debate. We are damned if we do and damned if we don't. So I might as well pull the lever for the guy who I think will cause the least amount of carnage. The only real solutions to our problems will come from the bottom up - not the top down.

Yes, it's an empty vote for sure. So if you want to chastise me. Well, I can't stop you. Heck, half of me wants to join you and chastise myself. Because in principle, I agree with everything you said.

But consider this - when choosing devils to rule Hell, is it not best to stick to the one you've already seen in action. Do you really want to do nothing and see what kind of devil Romney will be?

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

Is he running third candidate? Because I would love to screw up Romney's chances to win.

Paul and Ralph Nader have to get together, but Paul gets more donations, to run as a Republican. I am not sure what I hate more, Republican fascists or dirtbag Democrat closet fascists, so going Republican to vote for Ron is a reach.
