How can it not be when ALLl the Republicans in Congress will not vote for any increase in Revenue from the Wealthy. They want to decrease revenues , cut programs and entitlement but Not increase 1 cent of revenue from the Wealthy. Are they not attacking the 99% ?

The time is ripe to form a political party, take office seats from the republicans and democrats, and change the system. The 99% party may not hold a majority for some time, but it will change the discourse and create a greater accountability within government. The time to do this is now.

I agree but this HAS to start at the local level. Attempting to win federal elections at this point is a waste of money. A few seats in congress and senate may be winnable but the amount of money needed to win just one or two seats would be better spent on winning local seats. Think of the strategy as a viral infection. Who better to convey the demands of the people to our DC reps then our local reps who actually have boots on the ground. I know some of you will point to the success of the tea party at getting their reps elected but I'd argue that by doing so they have effectively shot themselves in the foot for the next election. If we can take a few seats in every state where there is an occupation we can push our agenda (whatever that might be). Whether or not we want to admit it our best chance of effecting change at any level is with the dem or indy parties. IMO finding local reps whom are beatable and running against them would be the best way of taking the concerns of OWS into the political arena. Another method we could adopt would be to find young idealistic elected officials like Ydanis Rodriguez and Jumaane Williams here in NYC and make sure they know that WE are their special interest group. We need to take the energy of this movement and focus it on our local legislative bodies and political organizations. Find your local dem and rep parties and join them… hold Mic Checks and GA’s and use these tools to spread the influence of OWS.

Since the wealthy already pay the largest share of tax revenue I don't understand the repeated calls for them to pay more. It seems people won't be happy until they milk the cow to death in the name of incrementalism.

I'd much rather see spending cut since there is much the Federal Government is doing that it need not and should not do.

Why is it about taxes? Maybe the real problem is the monster that is the federal government, that feeds off of the citizens, and the states. Maybe some of the representatives have said enough is enough, with feeding a government hell bent on growth and not able to maintain any sort of stability. Do you give more crack to a crackhead? more alcohol to an alcoholic? Of course you don't. If OWS has proven anything, it is that the federal government has too much power and needs to be put in check. These scumbags have allowed themselves to commit insider trading and get away with it. There is no need to raise taxes, we need government reform.

That was not the point of my comment. You have changed the subject. I have not said anything about what you are talking about.Made only one point.

Yeh you were trying to make a partisan point that has no bearing on anything. I don't support the GOP or the Dems but am firmly against both parties interests in growing the government. The government and the bankers is what is killing our economy. People who aren't in business have no idea. Banks are pulling credit lines, because the FDIC is threatening them. They are threatening them because the government doesn't want another banking failure, because that threatens their own existence. Thats why people can't find a job. This movement would never have got off the ground if the economy was good. The government is 99% of the problem.

Sure don't sound like one. Where is the vilification of the current federal government that is pretty much a progressive experiment? I bash both parties equally, and don't bother bringing up the partisan talking points. They are both corrupt and talking about tax increases is just a partisan issue meant to incite you to vote for them, when it has nothing to do with the problem.

Second, ignore them.
