Not only does it not hurt Wall Street, it helps it.

  • Bus lines from Portland, Or. to Chicago, IL. and others?

  • Places to stay for all these People, not all staying with friends.

  • Restaurants, fast food, C-stores, etc. etc. etc.

  • Electric and Gas usage go up, can y'all come to my city. jk.

  • How about fines and bail fees for those getting arrested. Not to mention part time riot patrol who all need to be trained and on and on it goes.

The entire Capitalist system is tied to this premise...

Movement = Profits

Stop Moving = Stop Profits

If I was a banker or profiteer of any sort, I would encourage non-violent civil unrest. $$$

Send in the riot patrol and make criminals out of good caring citizens, and demonize a good cause.

People this isn't rocket surgery. You guys mean well, but your encouraging the very thing your fighting against.

Think about a mass e-sitin, with a list of those industries who would be denied patronage.

I believe breathing is the only activity that doesn't make some kind of profit for someone.

For now.

Have you heard of Air Rights? It's real, now! Not quite about the air you breath but close.

Yeah, if they ever do figure out how to charge us for the air we breathe, they will. Penguento (below) pretty much sums it up, doesn't he (or she)? And that's just scratching the surface. In a related note also consider the proliferation of taxes over the last century or so:

Well gosh, if you decide not to go, so you're sitting at home with the lights on at night, you're making money for the greedy capitalists at the electric company. Cook some dinner on the stove and you're making money for the greedy capitalists at the grocery store, the greedy gas company and the greedy stove manufacturer. Come to think of it, if you have an apartment, you're making money for the greedy landlord. Own a house -- damn! Greedy mortgage company. Take a bus to the library to read a book? Greedy transit company. Read the book? Greedy publishers and authors. And if you're not running around naked, you're subsidizing those greedy people that make clothes and the greedy stores that sell them. Oh, and that e-sit-in--greedy computer company, greedy ISP and of course, more electricity from that greedy electric company. You can't even go down to the leftist bookstore without a problem. Everything there costs money too. Goddamn greedy bastards, that's what they all are, the whole lot of 'em.

Looks like our only alternative is to go live in a cave and eat worms and insects. You go first. I'll be along later.

Thanks Penguin, perhaps your right, it does sound rather fantastic when you say it.
