The movement is already foundering, it's just a matter of time before the silliness is over. Poor planning, organization, and general ignorance of what they stand for are the main causes. Oakland is just the beginning!

Martial law is going to be called if any of this gets too violent. I would recommend that everybody read up on what martial law is and how it can legally take all of our rights away from us. I don't agree with all of it. But I can agree with some, if not most of it. To be sure, we are in dire straits. And fighting amongst ourselves is not the answer to any of it. methinks its not nearly over... they've succeeded in creating a brand name around which to rally... they've struggled with what to rally around exactly so far, but eventually they'll get some traction on that... i expect this movement will influence our political landscape for years to come.

Why do trolls do it? I believe that most trolls are sad people, living their lonely lives vicariously through those they see as strong and successful. Disrupting a stable newsgroup gives the illusion of power, just as for a few, stalking a strong person allows them to think they are strong, too.
There is nothing more devastating than watching the first wave of your brothers and sisters go down in the struggle. Devastating, because at that point you must decide if you are strong enough to pick up the flag and carry on.

I'm just trying to get to the bottom of how you expect everyone to work in a society that doesn't provide work for everybody?
society provides work as society needs services. I'm not arguing that unemployment sucks. But how do you fix it: take money from the rich or create opportunity? We can't simply employ everyone unless we are socialists, we need to have value where our workers are concerned and we can't do that with employees who think 'value' is texting and facebooking while at work.
