It was a vancouver intellectual originating the idea of the global peaceful movement. It was the original 14 ows who 1st occupied this initiative and ows was 1st occupation

Dont stick all Canadians into the same groups guys, I know dozens that are not even close to being liberal. Most of the rural Canadians are very similar to rural Americans, they shoot, hunt, fish and dont give a shit about these idiots either.

Not even remotely.

It is. Don't be a stupid ass. Just because you don't want it to be, doesnt mean it isn't!

[-] -1 points by Spankysmojo (849) 12 years ago

I'm not a stupid ass. This is Occupy Wall Street, you know Wall Street in NYC not Montreal.

[-] 1 points by Foreverleft (9) 12 years ago

I get it. You don't want it to be. Does it really matter? Are you going to quit the .00001%?

Listen, I like Occupy the World. It starts here in NYC. I love Canadians. They are our closest ally and best friend. They already have a much better system than we do but if they are not happy with it and have legitimate gripes then sure let's have more Canadians.

[-] 1 points by Foreverleft (9) 12 years ago

Ally? England is our closest. We don't need Canada, they need us. Canada is our 51st state.

[-] -1 points by Spankysmojo (849) 12 years ago

So that bothers you? 51st state means they're one of us...even closer than ally. Why does it bother you that someone needs us. That's the price you pay for being the last superpower. You can't police the world only when it's convenient.

[-] 1 points by Foreverleft (9) 12 years ago

Yes. Canada is a welfare state. We don't need them.

Who are you to need anyone or tell me what I need? Bye.

No, it's an international movement.

The initial idea came from a journalist in Canada working for AdBusters. He talked about the idea of making a protest, but not of having be a protest of anarchy. Occupy Daratan was the first faction started in Malaysia in July. Then, AdBusters made an add to start the protest in NY. However, the day the protest was to start, an American intellectual, David Graeber, came in and gave the idea of making it into an anarchy.

Since it now uses direct democracy with an open consensus, American protesters choose what they want to do. Each city can decide for itself.

This website is Canadian owned and operated.

Thank you for clarifying the point. I am kind of shocked that anyone would be concerned that our great neighbors and trading partners take an interest in our middle class, since we should want the best for Canada and Mexico and we should hope they feel the same way about us. I guess it takes all sorts of folks to make the USA.

Can I sue adbusters if OWS protesters stole my bike?

[-] 0 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

No, because AdBusters did not make any decisions on how OWS would be run. OWS is run by Americans who make decisions in a consensus.
