NYPD contempt for the Constitution, American ideals and freedoms, pain compliance techniques, killing mentally ill citizens who they are called to help, murdering in traffic stops, even the criminal rapist cops -- all the above are covered by the same sheet, woven from a single thread. The 1% has convinced the cops that they are above the law. The cesspool that is the NYPD needs to be cleaned up.

I drive a taxi at night and i observe littler cop psychobehavior. You know patrol officers are called "PO" in cop paperwork- I call them "pissed off". Something causes traffic on a street to slow down and it doesn't matter what time it is or whether or not it's a neighborhood where people just might be trying to sleep. The pissed off won't get out of their car to see what the problem is- they'll blast their damned sirens is all as though that does anything as far as something happening a hundred feet ahead. They also of course love to double park and have impromptu chats while blocking traffic. If I'm cruising for a fare and there's a cop car right behind me I will not stop for a passenger- too damned risky.
More gravely they shot and killed an African taxi driver who worked at the same garage I do in his home- if you look at the story the cops and Bloomberg are fobbing off it makes little sense- that they shot him twice with stun guns and once with a rubber bullet and he kept coming at them with his knife. Yeah "super N word." And slashed them tearing a cop's shirt and another cops bag. So these cops get taken to Columbia Presbyterian - a real hospital- and the body of their victim gets taken to a charnel house called St Luke Roosevelt where he is declared dead.
They seem to have decided that they are prison guards, that they are the power. They seem to feel that their bosses have licensed them.
Stop & frisk policy, for example, sends the message that they are above the law. Everybody knows that that policy is unconstitutional and illegal (not to mention unAmerican) no matter what anyone says, including judges. So now too many NYPD cops feel the law doesn't apply to them.
If you have mentally disturbed or psychopathic officers thinking that way (or feeling that way) then there will be and have been serious problems.
