Forum Post: Our decade from hell will get worse in 2012 !!!!

" As financial historian Niall Ferguson writes in Newsweek: “Double-Dip Depression … We forget that the Great Depression was like a soccer match, there were two halves.” The 1929 crash kicked off the first half. But what “made the depression truly ‘great’ …began with the European banking crisis of 1931.” Sound familiar?

  1. Super Rich solidifies absolute power over our political system

That Supreme Court decision legalized political bribery. Now, billions pass through lobbyists to politicians with one goal: A promise that politicians vote for their special interests. Our middle class is in a rapid trickle-down into third-world status. The inequality gap steadily widens. Doesn’t matter who wins the 2012 race. Democracy is systemically corrupt by money. Obama, Mitt, Newt, all pawns of the system. "

I'm not counting on you for cheerful news in the morning. Great article.

sorry but i just hope it will spur some at least to realise the 2012 election will be a total farce

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

At this point, it is a total farce. No argument from me there.

At this point. That makes this point in time totally crucial. The NGA is only 200 days away, it's the RepubliCrats worst nightmare. C'mon Girl no time to lose, go for it. Why not become a delegate? Try and picture yourself sitting in that room in Philadelphia with 875 others.

OWS has no leaders, and this will go directly against it.

[-] 1 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

OWS has no leaders says who? The leaders of OWS?

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Corrupt because the people are too fuckin lazy to generate their own candidates

Great article--thanks. Yes, the writing is on the wall--we are heading into very bad times. Everyone needs to prepare themselves as best they can because there will be quite a number of people who will not make it through this decade (due to what is to come). I am reading a lot about what is to come and it is going to be a complete nightmare.

Sorry, this is a depressing topic--but it is the reality we will be facing. BTW, the NDAA (bill about military detention) passed the House and now is being looked over by the Senate and then it will go to President Obama (who lifted his threat to veto it). Absolutely appalling!

do you think there is a link between that and the troops returning to USA from Iraq ? Are they now getting ready to control their own countrymen ?

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 12 years ago

Scout, that has been weighing heavily on my mind lately. There has been a lot of talk about the you-know-what cam ps in this country. Here look at this. They are looking to fill these positions. http://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/browse-career-and-job-categories/legal-and-law-enforcement/internment-resettlement-specialist.html

I worry deeply for this movement and others.

yes i saw this advert as far back as 1-2 years ago so i think they have been preparing this for a while....it is spooky.

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 12 years ago

Oh, yes--spooky is the word.

I think it will happen in Europe, too.

[-] 0 points by Scout (729) 12 years ago

but i haven't heard or seen any mention of FEMA style camps there in Europe ?

[-] 1 points by Windsofchange (1044) 12 years ago

I heard there were a handful in Germany. It figures with their history. Someone told me that they were elsewhere in Europe, but honestly, time and time again--I keep hearing about Germany.

So sad that humans can't learn from past mistakes.

[-] 0 points by Scout (729) 12 years ago

i always think that when we have all these rememberance days around the world for different wars and battles. I mean at this rate we can fill the calendar with rememberance days..... but do we learn from them.... do we hell !

We are already in depression. They fudge the numbers. Take unemployment. When people stop claiming benefits or stop looking for work they fall off the radar. Self employed not on radar. Jobs created many min wage/low pay and temp, boost #s and average out. The real unemployment #s are in the 16th percentile nationwide, real depression. It would be well in the 20s if they polled all of us.

The whole system is based on labor statistics. We technically are "human resources" no different than "natural resources" Human resources are technically assets, we are productivity, sales, goods, commerce. Therefore - slaves without a total say, they gave use enough freedoms, but as population grows the law of averages shows. More people, more people on social security, more risk, higher insurance, more costs, more more more. If they kept the companies here instead overseas we would not have had a big boom and bust. We would have had steady growth, and as a result would be slightly higher standard of living. Not the steep rise and crash we experienced. Here is another BS department FDA, food and drug administration. The control the chemicals & levels of toxins in food for a safe amount. And regulate the drugs in a safe amount to treat the diseases the additives cause. Before all of the chemicals added to food, there was less cancer. It seems pretty popular now a days. This is to create more commerce with drug companies and medical, as this is the only sector that grows jobs.

We never rebounded from the first recession and are moving closer to a very severe depression, in which that will be much worse than the first one
